Right last night me and my mate had an argument about another mates car!

I said to him so and so's starlet has been 140mph (clock reading)

And he said no way do starlets do 140mph, youve got to remember they are only a 1.3 with a cotton wheel on them, after 100mph the clock is so wrong.

Soo, to prove a point what speed have you all had out of your starlets?

well on a private track of course my mate said i went past him and he was doing 130 mph so maybe 135 but dont like takin the car there it worrys me lol

i m not sure mate but i m sure you can hit that target, i hit 200kph on forth gear. i think you can manege that speed.... let see what others say..

on a racetrack i've seen a GT running 150mph on the clocks which we've compared with GPS and its within 2mph that was over 6k rpm but still had some revs to go, TD04 FTW!

when stock i had the reading at 142mph down a hill(clock reading) on a straight clock reading would just manage a 135mph pushing it! True speed i would say around 120-125mph to be fair on a staright.....

Thats stock, of course with a few more horsey power you will be able to go more as the gearing beats the power in these things by miles lol

I've had over 150mph on my clocks, need to get gps on the job to see how much its out by!

from my starlet ive seen 147mph sat nav reading and 152mph clock reading, so the speedo was a little out, But yeah i saw 147mph from mine

So we'll say the clocks can be between 5 - 10 mph out after 100mph

Stock is capable of maybe 130mph.
150mph you'd need to be tipping over 200bhp roughly than you run out of gears at about 165mph.

a always thought that the standard gearbox wouldnt give much more than 145mph

The standard limiter is around 7500.

Mine will do about 141mph on the gauge

iv seen 139mph on the blitz display not on the clock as it dusnt go past 110

always remember the speedo on starlets and most jap car's is 10% off the mark.
after removing the limiter on Glanza i managed about 133.60MPH couldn't Go more then that and that was on straight No down hill or any thing Gps approved and that was when the starlet was stock.

with the Mods i have got at the Min i managed 146.65MPH in Fifth Gear . Best fun in tiny Car.

150mph but was probs out by a bit. g-tec meters give readings dont they great for a track day.
