Cant really get near my old man in the Evo.

He likes to sit beside me when I'm flat out, and then accelarate off like I'm stood still.

He does have 640whp though, which is a slight advantage.

My glanza has had it converter to mph, so it now shows 180mph as the limit. i have had about 146mph out of her and my car only has all the supporting mods running 8psi as standard.

With stock mani, cat, airbox and boost running 195/45/15 tyres, I've seen a GPS reading of 132, it wouldn't pull any further than 6K in 5th.

I go 180 kph in 3rd if i take it right to the limiter. 4th also goes right out by that time my needle is touchin the needle u push to reset the trip counter. But i have no after market devices that can give me a readin ater i pas 180kph

Classic thread. 147 is the maximum speed you can do with a 4efte on the stock rev limiter using 15 inch wheels. If you have not raised your rev limiter then you will not get above this real speed.

With 15's the speedo will read just under 160 which is why people quote so inaccurately. The gear ratio's do not effect this top speed it is the rev limiter. If you raise the rev's to 8500 you will be near to 158 true speed but not on a stock turbo. They run out of puf around 130.

You can't physically go over 150 without raising the limiter. If you haven't achieved your top speed on a track then i would not post here!

Some good info there Toby as usual!! Suppose my Jam ECU will help me achieve a higher top speed as that lifts the rev limiter up
But guys seriously please try and be more careful about what you post up as anyone can be reading through the forum

On an old airpots closed runway i ve managed to jam my spedo :-D It is an Ep82 born with 2e engine and with incredibly small wheels. So with 20mm biger wheels i was doing 195 when the spedo stopped, but the monsta was still accelrating. (perhaps ther was a bit backwind).

nice, i love rx7s, my mate converted me when he bought his, its a X track car from japan, well over 400bhp and the torque is mental, think it does about the same speed wise, maybe a touch more

Put the GPS back in the car yesterday, I found going down the motorway with the speedo reading 80mph, the GPS was reading 73mph.
