nope optimax used to be 98 now v power is 99, in germany its 100

tesco is 99 as well and is something like 13% Bio ethanol as well which on its own is 135 octance!!!!!

i found my car feels slightly better with tesco 99 as isnt made by tesco's standard company. Its made by a firm called greenergy which is why i use it. No way in hell am i putting supermarket fuel into my starlet.

you could always fill up with normal and put that octane boost aditive in ?

i always use v power im sure it says 98 on pump ???

Tesco super unleaded has 5% methanol in it so will make your car run a little leaner. Which is ok if your stock or on a rich map. But not if your running close. (or it might just be ok)

Got told this off one of the drifters at trax his car is mapped for VPower but when he wants a lil extra power he puts tesco super in there as it runs a lil leaner. We also put it in bens gt as his map is on the rich side.

i some times treat my car with millers cvl turbo octane booster, which when using shell v power can boost my ron upto 104+, car seams to like it!

too high of octane made my friend crash his 180sx...
he put in too much octane boost and when driving down a small road he noticed the revs were jumping up and down a bit and as his eyes were focused on the rev counter a badger came out in front of him and then he ended up over a hedge..



so be careful not to use too much octane:confused:

Yeah its a good watch. Fairly good test as well. Obviously your standard hatch back or boy racer car wouldn't really benefit from it but a higher powered Japanese car will.

my cars mapped on V-power so only have ever put that in my car... i have one not even 2 miles from my house so its cool :)

I just filled it to the brim with Tesco99 and it was like £33.something. So not bad.

Petrol prices here are ridiculous though; 108.9 for normal, 114.9 for VPower, 113.9 for Tesco99. Going back to Brighton tonight for Uni, prices there are; 104.9 normal, 111.9 VPower. So while I'm at Uni I shall be using VPower only as theres no Tesco's nearby!

Anyone try the 102ron yet? difference on that? just found out a BP i go past all times have the 102 there. Cos i always go V-power. aint been BP yongs.
