He might of set of in 2nd? Some high powered Starlets do it this way...

ahh yeah you may be right there.... ive tried that plenty of times but i end up spinning off the line too much pulling off in 2nd gear.... Christ i spin off the line in 3rd gear.... I find 1st works the best to punch off the line quickly but i suppose it just depends on what set up your running and what suits your car....

was launching in 2nd gear, just works better with my setup. it runs a ae101 gearset and final drive, so its alot lower ratio than a gt box. plus 2nd gear syncro isnt so good, so was loosing alot of time changing from first to second.
clutch was dying as well. as you probably notice on the vid when i flat change 3rd-4th
tyres are hoosier radials. 225/50r15

Nice work dude, what tyres was you using?
I only use 1st gear to get momentum NEVER fully accelarate in 1st your just asking for a crappy time
would you even advise that driving style when using the wee ct9 ?
