so its not that one why is right and one wrong, just that they would be better for different things, a wide wheel, stretched low profile tyre for track/cornering or a wide wheel not stretched high profile tyre for drag/straightline grip>?

For track use a wide tyre will allow you to run a softer compound without overheating. You would want low profile to minimise tyre deformation while cornering (a larger profile will give it more progressive characteristics though) :drive:

Pretty much Phil, obviously for drag you need lots of sidewall and lot's of flex to promote traction, on the track the opposite. That's why a 888 looks so bloody big compared to the same size tire in say proxy or a539 form. With a 195/50 888 you end up with a huge side wall and naf handling, stretching say a 165/50 results in a real side wall of around 35/40, ideal!

Agreed as I for one must write the same old stuff over and over, maybe sticky I'll see if one of the mods can do that for us :kiss: :haha:

So i have just done a big fuck up putting 195/50/15 R888 on my Aygo then! (after what i read :( ) tought the 165 are too thin !
