hey ya m8 i would say get i nice s14a i got one after the starlet couple of months ago. They are so much nicer to drive than the starlet i have a stage 1 s14a and it is quick bout 280-290BHP and not as bad as i though back end wise it handles realy well almost as good as the starlet so still great fun to drive faster and alot more reliable.good luck with what ever you pick.

for a start they are 2 completely different cars..a turbo rwd and a n/a fwd.personally if i had the money id go buy a nice s13 or a s14a as they have more power than the vti and you also have the fun of it being rwd.

stock S14 isnt much fun.... Bit bland for me..... With more guts though they are very nice and can look great. Very smooth engines with no real exciting power band(stock)

A nice exhaust system, decat filter a tad more boost and they are pretty lively....

having just swapped from a Glanza to a s14a yesterday i'd say do the same!! loving it! even with the only mods bein suspension and cat back its still no slouch and so much more comfortable to drive/cruise having the leather and very nice driving position.., but its a completely different drive to the V and be the same for the VTi, as said already they're 2 different cars altogether

turbo rwd ftw  LOL

I owned an SIR EG9(which has a more aggressive map than the VTI's) and i sold it after 3mths. Very soon the novelty of vtec wears off and the handling seems too easy, anyone could make it handle good, but to get its potential you have to stick it right in the apex hard, which didnt suit me because you had to make noise for this, and then you get the "boyracer" looks.

Id have the up-most respect for the actual hona engine though, there bulletproof, just not the most exciting if your using it as a daily driver. If i had to get one again id use it on track where it can be enjoyed, unlike the GT where it can be enjoyed at high or low speeds.

So to round it up,boring unless you drive like a lunatic. And the lack of passing out power and tourque is really really annoying, building up vtec everytime...just waiting...nearly there...yes!!...lorry(back in)

All imo of course, the above is pretty true though as i dont like driving up to 9k rpm

That i can agree with...

ALthough i find the type Very luxurious at the same time so i love driving around town.....

Also there are alot of roads where i can use the car to its potential around where i live, well just outside....... But yeah the cars are alot better for tracks where you can use it more...

:)id go 200sx cus my mates gotta ek9 spent loads on it and its still slower than a 200bhp starlet and im not overkeen on the vtec waiting for it to kick in very nice cars though.
As above you'd have to do a few mods to make them quick but you can get a s14 running 280-300bhp quite easily and not that expensive:)
But they're abit thirsty

go for sr20 S13 IMO. dont bother with CA18, i know its 2/3rds of a RB26 but sr20 is some job.

how?

remember if you want to buy a rwd to have fun in then go for one that has a decent coilover set up and only a 2 way diff...

standard diffs or viscous diffs can lock the back wheels but can easily and will sometimes un lock them in the middle of a drift and send you straght thru a wall or hedge:rolleyes:
