Pauter rods and the same pistons I have now, Ross low comp ceramic coated 10cc drop. Should be fun that's for sure. Also working on the valves at the mo just want to see as many different 5e's first to get an idea on what CR people are running silly turbo's at. Harry's is large with a CR of 8.9:1 which is high hence he can't go mad on the boost, but, it's probably very drivable considering the off boost response and is built for a different purpose, right harry? :)

Also whats you duty cycle with your injectors as our turbos are sort of similar sized.

Not sure on duty cycle sorry. I run 720cc injectors with the std fuel reg though.

what is involved in fitting the bosch coil packs?

I run an Autronic SM4 ECU along with an Autronic CDI box that fires the coils. They've also got built in ignitors.

Umm I was sort of building a street/drag car but then decided to go the 5e and the CR went right up, so we just made do instead of re-ordering pitons. If I did it again Id probably go 8.2:1 CR. Im also running stock head bolts and a composite head gasket so I dont think it would handle loads of boost. At first I was chasing 380hp atw but doing this ive run an 11.7 with 270hp so It seems to be a lot more useable power.

If you looking at head work toby than this is a good idea. Especially if your running large cams.

Thanks Harry, we have 10cc lower dished pistons, these should give a CR of 7.8:1 using a 1.2mm gasket, with a nice bit of head work we can get that up to around 8:1 which should be okay for circa 1.7 bar. Like you were trying to retain a little response hence the relatively smaller turbine housing..

HOODEY

Fresh Recruit
Good Power.

Basicaly look for 245+ Hp on a 1500cc with a GT spec turbo.

I like the boost response of the gt2540.

What fuel where you using and what maximum ignition advance on the 245hp 19psi pull?
