6Speed Glanza?

at the end of the day it`s a good upgrade ..afriend of mine with at least 20ps less than me was nearlly half car behind me from 2 gear..(due to close ratios)
From standing start though i thing 5 gears is better( for traction)

It is and it isnt...

With the six speed your throw of the gear stick is a little shorter and also the lift out of 3rd n 4th is brilliant....

BUT (and its a big one)

They will not last with decent power, to make room for the 6th gear without compromising the size of the box, the gear wheels are thinner which in turn weakens them, I had mine in in no time its not much work, but be aware that it will go down the line if you give it even a little abuse, remember a G6 is about 75hp (if even)

Any ting else you want to know about it give me a shout

Thanks for that m8

It appears I lied! :shoot: The ZZT230 Celica uses the same 5th as the petrol powered Yaris, not the diesel. :slap:

Apparently the C53 from a 2001> 1ND-TV (1.4 D4D Diesel) powered Yaris has a 5th gear ratio of 0.73:1 as opposed to the EP Turbo's 0.815:1, so if both the drive and driven 5th gears will fit it could give you the desired result.

Will they fit the C52 or C56 from an EP Turbo? Your guess is as good as mine.

i had a 6 speed in my last gt. i thought it was great. my car ran a td05 16g setup at a bar and it never missed a beat.

the gearbox didnt brake
didnt crunch even when giving it some abuse
and the gearbox never fell off either :noidea:

there is a levin box that fits also i believe and it has a helical lsd.

the g6 box bolts right on
the g6r neads the belhousings swapped.

The C160 from the AE111 fits if you change the bellhousing to that of the c56. Its not a great drag racing box, but its a great circuit/street box. Using it to drag race will slow the car down for two reasons, the gears and final drive are very close so you'll get a lot of wheelsin off the line. The other problem is that you have to shift TWICE to hit 60mph in the 6speed as 2nd only goes to 55mph.

On the street its great the car will always be in the powerband and boost for most applications. I swapped from a 5speed with a 4.3 final to a 6speed with its 4.5. Basically 6th gear is for highway crusing.
