Advice needed: Running too Lean on boost (High 13's)

Hey guys, Had a problem for ages where my EP82 will run lean on boost, even on standard boost I'm seeing 13's.

So far I fitted an uprated fuel pump
New fuel filter
RRFPR

Still on Standard injectors

Now the only way I can see 11's on boost is by running 4 bar of fuel pressure, which is way too high (Surely that's not right). So I'm getting kinda stuck now :(

Also I'm now running a Blitz Access Ecu and it's still the same as the standard one. So I'm thinking a mechanical problem rather than electronic.

Unless.... My wideband is lying, but I only bought it brand new 6 months ago.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Maybe its your fpr thats dodgy put the stock one back on, u will melt pistons there i would consider that to be dangerous lean, i don't think them ecus lake any change in fuel pressure other than stock but if it takes 4 bar pressure to fuel right on boost i would leave it there for now.

Have you done a free air calibration on your wideband and checked it again?

I think only the Innovate allow recalibration, the vast majority of gauge only set ups are set at factory and that's it. Doesn't allow much room for accuracy after a few years wear and tear on the sensor so I prefer the Innovate version.

If you are seeing 13's on wide open throttle you are lucky not to have done piston damage TBH. As John pointed out you could be getting an inaccurate reading from the wideband so it might be worth getting a local tuner to take a second reading with another wideband for comparison.

A Blitz ECU should offer very rich readings at WOT, usually down into the high tens with standard injectors and stock fuel pump so it certainly sounds like something is amiss.

Also make sure there is no leaks before the wideband and around the bung, that can cause leaner wideband readings, another thing to look at is testing the fuel pump and making sure there is a proper 12v current going to it.

Sorted now..

Re-calibrated the wideband, and now it see's between 11.9 - 10.9.

I was pretty certain it couldn't have been actually running 13's on boost, because like you say it would have destroyed it's self.

Cheers for the help guy's
