AE86's

I can't see the attraction to these. They cost silly money, they rust like nobody's business, their not fast and they don't handle that well.I saw five or six of these down at the docks today and not one of them was a good one.I bet they'll all be in next weeks Autotrader being described as mint at 7 or 8k.

Just hype really... their hyped to be the best thing ever, yet are flawed in many ways... Sheep/bandwagon syndrome... dont start me and people and ipods

albeit THIS was good sport back in the mid 90s lol

its a cult car, the vw beetle is ugly, slow, rusts like a bitch, doesnt handle, designed by a nazi and yet a good one can fetch more than an ae86

same story with the mini (although i personally think there a good car) vw transporter, sl gullwing etc etc

AE86's are wicked cars!

One of my mates brought one at the start of year, he does loads of drift what you brung events its a machine.

Here's a couple of good photo's of my Impreza P1 and his AE86 which where taken at the start of the summer (I love these pics - my mate who has a really good camera and knows what he's doing took them):

I absolutely love these cars, but they are way to overpriced these days.
If the prices will go down in the future i probably buy one.

Agree I think they will only continue to demand more more, especially now that drifting has gained alot of popularity. They are a cult car in Japan - everyone loves the AE86 there!

Think my mate paid £5k for the one in the picture.

I love AE86's, but there is no way in shit I'd pay 7-8k for one, turbo'd or not. Besides, you know the ones set up to drift have had a hard life in Japan, so you're bound to have problems.

I'd rather buy a stock one with a 4A-GZE.
