another way of getting around fuel cut without an FCD?

Stop compressor surge? Are you gay?

so there are a lot of gay on this site sam as most run bov to prevent comp surge :) i know it could not be an issue but i would never take a chance to run it without one as its too expensive here to fix a fucked up turbo , better safe than sorry plus if you have a good dv the blow off is almost as good as the chatter given by the surge :p

Hmmm after reading this i decided to remove my BOV. Didnt wanna be classed as gay! lol.

But in regarding this. I always have my BOV turned down low, and on low boost it sounds mint. You can defintly hear that chitter chatter.

Im sure Sam was only playing around mate. And you were defintly not wrong in saying to run an aftermarket BOV! Each to there own tho. Some love the noise when running NO BOV... Some dont.

I for 1 dont care what it sounds like... Shit if i wanted a nice sounds id get a VTEC YO  LOL

A mechanical FCD, put a boost controller infront of the MAP sensor. Or use of a bleed valve at the turbo nipple may slow down it's ability to create boost, may just be enough to stop the fuel cut.

Both short term measures of course.

Kelly has wrapped up the thread well in the first post!

There is other way of getting around fuel cut, but only if you are willing to modify the ecu harness, and some other stuff. Basically when the ecu recieves a a certain volt (betwen 3.7v and 4.3v, depending on the car) from the map sensor, it send a a signal from FC connector on the ecu to the circuit opening relay and shut down the fuel pump. You could override this by having a normal relay instead of the circuit opening relay, and just cut the FC wire. Then again, fuel cut is for protecting the engine, but if you want to mess around that, then go ahead!, you still gonna get CEL, but fuel cut won't happen. Hope this clarify mate!

are you talking about the zener diode thing?

this way wont work.

what happens in boost cut is the ecu cuts the signal to the INJECTORS not the fuel pump......

and what i found out lately is that the ecu will cut the signal to the igniter going to spark cut if cutting the signal to the injectors dont work

Guess you right! my bad:p, anyway, with zener you can do a really cheap fcd!
