Any internet game players? Need help!

Ok mate, I uninstalled eve and then booted in safe mode and reinstalled eve on the administrators account, checking in the properties>security tab that everyone has access to it. I also cleared the start up programs but I'm still getting the same response. I'm at my wits end with this fucking thing now.

Also I don't think its anything to do with the server not allowing my username in as I get the server status:unknown message before I enter any of my details.

do they have a technical line? surely they could direct you?

it must be something corrupted between the game and the router thats not working properly, i would un install all your virus software and see if that works.

i had a problem before like that, it says its "allowed" but it really doesnt let it lol

they don't have a line you can call but they do give guidance via email, I'm in the middle of trying to sort it out now but don't seem to be getting very far. Also somewhere along the line I've managed to lose my McAfee! The icon is still in the systray but when I try and open it nothing happens! :homer: So now I've got no idea if my computer is protected or not. Also I've tried to load the game with all my firewalls turned off and I still have the same problem so I don't think its anything to do with that.

Who does this game try to access their server is it through the game itself or through internet explorer??
Well if your Macafee is fooking up then completely uninstall it and install Avast 4 Home Edition its completely free and very good, also works well with games, just type it into google and you'll find the download.
Can yo get into the game properties itself?? If so does it give you any options for servers etc or server address??
Did you try and use your account on your mates computer or vice versa??
One easy resolution would be a recovery/format that should fix it but will lose your data so you would have to back everything up.
What are EVE saying??

Eve have basically said the same as you mate, they've also said to contact my ISP to see if they block ports (done and they don't). McAfee is back to normal, think I messed it up when I was in safe mode (some how!). I know McAfee is happy with Eve coz I did log on before with McAfee running.

The server is accessed thru the game not IE and as far as I'm aware there is only one server. I used my account on my mates desktop (ethernet) and his laptop (wireless). I don't really wanna format, plus I wouldn't know where to start with backing up and formatting.

Is it unusal to have 2 wireless icons in my systray? I have one for the belkin wireless card and one windows network connections. They both display the same info. But by the looks of it I can't turn 1 off and leave the other on.

Yeah that is normal to have them 2 icons in the sys tray, reason for them is windows has its own in built wireless controller. To turn one of them off go to MSCONFIG and check under services for Wireless Zero Configuration untick that and that should leave you with just belkin one when you restart. Maybe that was confusing the game.

I fucking hate computers. I tried going msconfig to untick the wireless zero config and it said I need administrator account. So I rebooted in safe mode and on the main login screen it gives 2 accounts, mine and admin. Went into the admin account and it still said I need to be in the admin accout! Went back into my account (still in safe mode) and got the same message. Who the hell is the administrator on my PC?!

LOL I know what you mean.
MSCONFIG likes to say that even though your logged in as the administrator, just press ok to that message then press apply and ok on the MSCONFIG window, restart and that should be it done.

It didn't work mate. But I can right click the belkin icon and close it. Done that and tried to connect and guess what? Still no joy.

I just tried downloading and running world of warcraft and I can't connect to that either.

Rite in World Of Warcraft, what does it say when you type in your username and password??
If you look to the left of the login screen youll see manage account, click that then try and login because that will then be using internet explorer to login.
Do you have a modem aswell as a router?? If so can you try pluggin in directly to the modem so the router is ruled out also.

Tried that with eve mate, I'm not doing it again, it was a nightmare to move everything into the living room! I just uninstalled WoW, I'll reinstall it and have a look.

When you clicked manage account did it open internet explorer and give you the option to login?? Could you log in there??

I can only login to the account manager doing that mate, not the game itself.

I might be clutching at straws now mate but I've just been thru my connection settings and pinging the IP's there.
I tried,
My IP - pinged
subnet mask - not reachable
default gateway - pinged
DNS - both pinged.
Eve server IP - unreachable.

Does the subnet mask have anything to do with me not being able to connect to the game?

Naw that wouldnt be the problem, you cant ping the subnet mask so wouldnt worry about that.
You could try it in Safe Mode with networking, that way anything conflicting with the game will be turned off, so that should rule out most things.
Still no joy with EVE??

Eve have given up on me but I've found the problem, I was trying to run Eve at the same time as Peer Guardian, apparently they don't get on!

Surely if you cleared the startup (msconfig) then nothing else would be running except EVE.lol. Anyway happy days at least its fixed now Sorry to hear about your car aswell mate :flame:
