Nope, sticky tape holds it to the dash. Only rattles if you use the coinholders that are part of the mirror compartment.

thats a cool little add on, i have cupholders that attach to the dash anyway or else i would of got this, maybe i will get one anyway then i can hold more beer on it so i never have to reach into the bag to grab another when i am driving lol
