Of course it takes those in to account, otherwise it wouldn't be considered an average. It doesn't by any means apply to each and every single person; but an average is needed. It's the same reason why a person can be over the limit and be pissed as a fart or another person to feel pretty much normal. The law still needs to be there, regardless of your typical drinking habits and tolerances.
"Most people's bodies will process one unit of alcohol per hour, so one hour after drinking one unit your Blood Alcohol Content (Bac) will return to zero or near zero. Drinking two units will take two hours and so on.
Because it takes time for your body to get rid of the alcohol, drinking more than one unit per hour will build up higher Blood Alcohol Concentrations and take longer for you to sober up."
From BBC website.
A pint of ordinary (4%) strength lager - 2.3 units
A pint of strong lager - 3 units
A standard 175ml glass of red or white wine - around 2 units
A large 250ml glass of red or white wine - around 3 units
A small (25ml) measure of spirits -1 unit
A 275ml bottled alcopop - 1.5 units

Dont tar us all with the same stick nor put us on the same page as yourself.
I NEVER drive after even having 1 pint, theres a law there for a reason and you wouldnt be complaining if someone you knew was killed by a drink driver!
Unreal the amount of folk on here defending this, i thought most of the folk who are defending this had a brain.
You either DRINK or you DRIVE theres no inbetweener in my eyes.
The roads will be quiet in Scotland then!! :haha:
Any advice or previous experiences would be great full (in exchange for REP
just knew this thread would end up being one endless soapbox for those who never do anything wrong. if you could get back on topic, the guy posted up here about what he did wrong so others would think about it and not follow his actions.
what have we had since, people posting up how they would never do such a deplorable thing. well done, so proud of you.
someone should lock this thread up, serves no purpose.

Yeah totally off topic saying how it's wrong to drink drive. I apolagise :homer:
I for one stated my opinions on the topic, I don't see why you have to take such argumentative stance. Fair enough you have a difference in opinion but if there's anyone going off topic it's you pal.
The guy was in the wrong hence got dine for drink driving which is unnaceptable. End of.
Over and out as this thread is just going round in circles with people having petty side arguments because they dint like someone dissagreeing with them.
now youve got me wrong , i dont have a difference of opinion, drink driving is wrong, end of. its the holier than thou approach that gets my goat.
