Hi guys,
It has become apparant that we will never be able to use 100% of the power through 1st and 2nd gear when running high HP through the fronts, so I have been looking in to what we can do to improve things.
Some of this info has been given to me by another member running massive HP and running VERY low QTR times. I hope they do not mind me sharing this information.
- Lower control arm brace - Tie's your control arms together and along with the top strut brace you get a box of strength which also helps with handling.
- Whiteline anti-lift kit.
- Maxing out the + castor on your suspension.
- Good solid engine mounts. Will sacrifice a bit of comfort but will help eliminate axle tramp.
- Good wheels and tires
- LSD
Then when on the QTR:
- Running low pressure through the front tyres.
- Set the rebound on the front shocks to maximum.
- Stiffen up the rear shocks and even raise them right up if your keen.
EDIT/ADDED
- Get weight over the front of the car
- Run skinny tyres at the back
- Reduce weight
And the thing which I believe is letting me down..
- Throttle control!
I hope the member does not mind be quoting them.
Please feel free to add any imformation hints or tips!

The thing that will make the biggest difference is throttle control. About half throttle through first and 3/4 through second seems to work for me giving a fair amount of wheelspin but still pulling hard. You just need to find whats right for you. Slipping the clutch a lot will also help you get off the line quicker but will wear the clutch quicker. Some guys also just launch in 2nd with big power.
