The police cant stand up and use your statements as evidence, it has to come from you.
They will pay your expenses, and will give you a form to fill in. You wont get the money back straight away, but if it is a long journey for you - make the most of it (nice hotel etc), get your boss to say that you are taking unpaid leave as well for this so you can claim back earnings lost as well. That should make it worth your while

Am I right in thinking my employer has to give me time off without effecting my annual holidays?
It's strange, the case was originally meant to be held in the north and the PSNI didn't want me in court but now its in the south the Gardi do want me.
I understand people think these are trivial questions in the light of what the case is about, but I find it hard to believe the majority of people wouldn't want to know the same answers if it was them.
