I scanned it too quick it seems. But we were both inaccurate!

A combination of towing vehicle and trailer can be driven as long as the combination doesn't weigh more than 3.5 tonnes and the trailer is lighter then the unladen weight of the towing vehicle.

Trailor laws are different now, you can't tow anything more than 750kgs, including the weight of the trailer unless you do a test and have it added on to your licence.

That isnt true.

When i looked, its worded utter shit, but from what i can tell you can tow up to the unladen towing vehicles weight (as long as its within that cars towing capacity) but overasll it cant exceed 3.5ton....

ie in theory if you had a 1500kg car, you could tow 1.5 tons. Its all bull anyway, i will just be towing my car at some point, screw the trailer test when i can get around it....

Altho the old man is thinking about getting a VW transporter flat bed for work soon, so that would make things easier :D

Ah, sorry Sam didnt realise you had written a new post :)

Is a pain though, i was gonna get my xedos going again to do some towing.... If i done my Mk1 MR2 in race series, the car has a min weight of 1000kg (with driver) so with a trasiler will be best part of 1500kg, and the damn xedos weighs in at just 1200-1250kg doh.
