u need at least 4gb of ram to run a pc with vista and have the same response that a xp systme would have, go to a computer fair mate they are all over the place i built a pc with 400gb hd, 2 gb ram, gaming motherboard, hd video card and hd audio for just over 300 including case power supply everything, give me a pm i may be able to help

my girlfriends laptop is a decent spec, core2 cpu, 2gb ram etc and it still runs like arse. trying to convince her to load xp on but she ain't bothered about it's speed, it drives me mad when i'm on it though....

my laptop is well spec'd and had the option of vista but I asked for XP professional... unless you have serious amounts of RAM forget about using its advanced features.. its just a bloated shite OS.
 
Hold up, putting asside the xp vs vista argument... you want a PC with the LATEST leagal I assume OS installed for under £200 notes? I know the economy has slowed down but it hasend died!!!...

i said about £200, mine cost £260 and you can get one for just under £200 from comet.

i dont find vista slow at all and i have 2gb of ram. i turn off all the bullshit flashy stuff you dont need or use and its fine. loads up quickly, runs things well and can multitask as well as i need it too.
i admit on my laptop its a little slow as it only has 1gb or ram, but in the process of upgrading that soon.
