Awsome! those slicks looks dead sexy. what turbo and boost is it running?

i think the slicks i got are 8 but are 15".

where did he get the driveshafts made to cope too or are they stock?

stock driveshafts.. ud be surprised how many things are stock on this car..

just a ported n polished head, stock cams, stock head bolts, stock crank & flywheel, stock bearings.. well basically all this car has is a totally insane tune, a lovely ammount of boost, forged rods & pistons, thicker hg & a pnp head :)

as for turbo & boost im afraid im not aloowed to share :)

ah fair do, but im intrested in seeing that the driveshafts are stock!, from your experiance can they handle slicks?

well yes & no... it all depends on how much their heated up... if u heat them up jsut a little less than u should u rarely have problems, (thats y he doesnt get such a good 60ft) but iv seen way to many shafts die, not in hussey's case though (touch wood)... he prefares to kill his gboxes lol..

personally id rather drag radials.. coz slics really tax the shafts.. but they are helpful lol.

cool, well i have some 14 semis im picking up soon too for my otehr spare alloys lol, but there smaller and cant see them being a great improvment over my normal 205 50 15's.

think i was told with the slicks was they wont work unless warm, i really only wanted them for full 2nd gear grip as thats where im loosing all my time so you think a light burnout and i should theoretically be ok?

And whats the deal with teh 3rd gear breaking lol?

well a light burnout is so to speak, but not that light.. keep it going till u feel them getting warm, just dont make them flame lol.. well run 12psi on semi slics & warm the hell out of them.. that will give u a result good as ever :)

as for the 3rd gear breaking, the gear goes into place but as soon as the clutch is released ALL the teeth break off... :homer: this has happened 9 times to date :shoot:

ill have to watch out for that then lol. hopefully itll be ok. i got a spare box anyhow but its a gt one and im currently runing a glanzabox, cant say it helped on the 1/4mile though.

ill no doubt keep you all informed once i try the 2 diffrent tyres out.

yeah man! put it this way, climate wise the uk is much colder & wetter than malta, so its simple to say ull be able to control the warming up on the slics better...

well hes broken both glanza & gt gboxes... apparently the only solution is to source a straight cut gear box.. the only company i know that makes them is Route 6.. BUT I CANT FUCKING FIND THEM!!!

i know theres a member on here who has a route 6 gbox in his gt, but i have NOOOOOOOO clue who it is :(

Very impressive result. Congrats to all involved!

Can I ask what tires hes on? They look like 22's but the tire walls are quite large and they only make the 22" slicks in 13's and 15's?

When did he start destroying gears? It happens every now and then to the swift guys running low 11's but Ive been resonably lucky so far running 11.7's but im not getting much grip in 2nd and 3rd now. Im thinking ill be in trouble when my new tires arrive

Have you considered cryo-treating the gearbox?

well yes & no... it all depends on how much their

Over here many more fwd's seem to break driveshafts on semi-slicks rather than slicks. Its got to do with the contant grabbing and letting go of the tire. Starlet shafts are quite tough though, im still on stock shafts that ive been racing on for 2+ years.

Congrats again on the time. I still think your dragstrips are on the side of a cliff though:p

the rims on the car are 13", and yes they're 22s. normally the car does 11.7secs, thats when 60 fet is 2.0 secs or 1.9 secs. when he manages a better 60 feet, it does 11.5/6 secs, but the last 2 occasions it did 11.4 stable. i dont see where we have a downhill track if we're doing the same times approx. with the same figures. do you have a scan of one of your runs mate?

thanx

Ill get the vid up asap guys.

The car is mental... just like the lads from Malta!

PS: the track does start going downhill but its after the line so has no impact on the times... Ive seen it with my own two eyes ... I was a little disappointed as I like to slag off the guys as much as anyone.

PS: Kons car is a bit crazy as is the way he drives it... and well ... I have some pics of Keiths car which I promised I wouldnt put up on the site but let me tell all the Glanza drivers out there.... it is the nicest... cleanest...meanest looking Glanza I have ever seen bar none!

Heres the only one ive got a photo ofhttp://img410.imageshack.us/img410/3946/dsc00025xi3.jpg. This was on old 15x22" slicks. Ive actually ordered 13x22" tires a couple weeks ago. Good to know they work well.:)

So was he shaving gears when he was running 11.7's or is this just a recent event?

I wasn't serious about the cliff thing:p. Just getting jealous of all the insanely quick cars in malta:rockon:

Cheers
