Still having trouble with my exhaust manifold leaking. Had the face skimmed and its got a really small leak that needs sorting!!! One of my mates suggested a copper gasket. Can get some sheet and make my own. Just wondered if anyone has made one before and what thickness would be best!?

tried it mate never worked i solved mine by running 2 stock gaskets!

I thought about that but asked someone at work and they reckoned it wouldn't be any better!!! Its only a really small leak, but if you listen closely you can just hear it

That firegum is crap. I used to use it, but I'm not a fan at all! Ill double the gaskets up and see how it goes. Just got to pop into work and get my old gasket :)

Its almost back together now. Couldn't find the gasket I originally wanted to use so went for another one I had laying around! Will start it up in a second and see what happens!!!!

any luck?? lol

havnt started it yet. need to swap the injectors. did a compression test just to check everything was fine and one of my plugs isnt looking too sharp so going to put a different set of injectors in. thought i may as well swap them over first before starting it. been a busy day so fitting it in between other chores around the house :)

will report back once i find out

No, I take it apart and can see where its leaking. Its from the manifold to head gasket every time!

i tried everything had it skimmed like you, tried all sorts of wurth sealants, exhaust pastes, copper nothing sorted it until i doubled up on 2 new gaskets so gutted it did't work for you, were they new gaskets?

No, one was about 50 miles old, the other was admittedly old, but that's all I had at the time. Such an arse, its such a minor leak, but I like things to be 100%
