ct9 hybrid?? how much boost will it take???

looking at a hybrid ct9 turbo. but a bit unsure about how much boost i can run. im lookin for 1.2 bar. some traders quote only 1.1 bar and some quote 1.3 bar.

anybody with a ct9 hybrid shed some light for me please. on what boost they can handle

well that really depends on the turbo manufacturer.. personally iv used 3 hyrbids.. ran all of them at 16~19psi & never had any problems.. even though only 1 of them was good for that boost..

toby says to run his at 1.1bar for warranty purboses.

most hybrids should be able to cope with 1.2bar with no hassle, but the question is can the engine take that?

1.1bar would be the safest bet imo

well it runs at a 1 bar at the min. with a standard ct9 on. my engine has standard internals as far as im aware.

Yeah ours will take 1.2 bar if not more but for warranty purposes 1.1 bar max, otherwise people would run 2.0 bar and go mad!

Ricky has the most valid point our hybrids can run plenty of boost without problem but how will your engine fair? We were running 1.2 bar on a stock engine in our run around, it went very well but the engine had covered 150,000 miles and the piston rings were soon fried, granted we've now rebuilt it with forged internals but you do need to consider these implications..

Some will be fine but it depends on quite a few variables, ours was just very high mileage so it did well to last as long as it did. We will have rolling road graphs up after next week just running in at the mo, 500 odd miles to go
