if you want something your not gonna have to spend money on go for the diesel corolla, i've had 4 diesel corollas, and haven't had to spend a penny on any of them apart from tyres and service items. had one for 2 years, never failed to start, never gave the tiniest bit of trouble at all, put a set of tyres on it and serviced it and put at least 50k miles on it over the 2 years. unbelievable cars there what i'd go for every time

ive had a look at the corollas, and tbh they do look absolutely wank lol, thats the only thing thats puttin me off, not sayin a 306 is gorgeous but its a damn sight nicer than a corolla :/

its not that i cant use a van, its more that ive got 2 seats in my v, so another 2 seater isnt really that much use to me, and insurance is more on one for some reason

well at the end of the day you either want something nice(which is what the glanza is for), or you want something reliable for a daily! if you want something that will never let you down and will do exactly what you need it for go for a corolla, if you want something thats nice and you'll probably have to spend money on and could let you down go for the 306. my bro has a 306 and it doesn't like starting in this weather, heater switch stopped working, drivers window came off the rail with the cold, and i heard they eat rear bushins.
its up to you, but you seem to have your mind made up!

bloody hell! why are they so reliable? theres not much that can go wrong with them though is there being non turbo etc

good ole toyota reliability ;)
lots of non turbo piles of crap out there though, that are no good mg, rover etc
only problems they suffer from are links going, but there only a tenner and easily replaced, they use a bit of oil, but keep an eye on that and your laughing.
really are ultra reliable, if you want something that isn't gonna fail, this is the car for you!
