Doesn't sound like much to be worried about then TBH.

I take it you've check the box has oil in it? I'm sure it would be moaning with more than the odd clunk if it didn't.

Out of interest, what diff are you using?

thats wat i mean when im taking a corner fast it doesnt really make any noise ( not that i can hear over exhaust and road speeds etc.. ) but it doesnt seem like it?

i also seem to get an extra sort of turn in, like i will turn into a corner, and then it will turn pull the wheel in even more

Do you mean extra turn is as you have an LSD or the wheel is pysically turning? Does it sound like the plates are locking and unlocking or does it sounds like grinding to the point where the whole car is shaking?

my problem is i dont have much experience with lsds, so i cant really tell wat a diff "should" sound like lol.

the turn in does feel like its just the diff grabbing at times, but i thought the two could be linked!

my main concern was that the noise was NOT here when i first fitted the gearbox back in with the diff installed.

yeah i havent actually checked the oil lately but it was correct a month ago and no signs of leaks

I have to go out Ads but will continue tomorrow, LSD's will generally bind on slow corners and turn in don't forget it's not an open diff any more, was it doing this from the start even if less noticeable? What diff oil are you using as well, TRD? Don't use synthetic gear oils as they will make the LSD more noisey.

How did you break the diff in, did you do figures of 8 for an hour (not in one go :p) or did you fit and drive? If so it may need some work. Let us know mate..

ok toby cheers mate.

i fitted the redline gearbox oil recommended for diffs off there website.

yes it was the trd diff bought from yourself.

i literally put it in and drove, didnt realise there would be need to break it in?

i havent been mad with it, the usual bit of a blast down the twistys but nothing over the top like the mcdonalds carpark grand prix or anything

I would just keep an eye on it, if it gets worse, worry about it then.

You'll only end up changing parts for the sake of it trying to cure a fault that might not even be there.

If there was a serious problem with the diff, whether it be an LSD or open diff, it would more than likely be quite obvious.

One more, as above if it's foobared then it would be foobared all the time. You need to break it in mate! Do figures of 8 just type in LSD break in and you will find instructions on google really easy just need some space to do it. It will get better with time and it will make a lot of noise, don't use Redline Oil get some TRD Oil it's made specifically for there diffs, or we can find out who makes it for them.

The redline stuff could be close or could be far who knows but worth getting what TRD recommend even if it is a scam, just for peice of mind. Break her in for a bit, would say your shafts/cv's are fine :)

sounds identical to mine mate been running it for abour 2years now with the noise:p

i have been using silkolene 75-90 but now i just read this:
"The other common cause of chattering from your LSD is using the wrong oil. Both poor quality oils and all-synthetic oils "

the silkolene is syntheticso i may look for an alternate
