yes they are different

on the one without a oem lsd they are one short & one long

& on a gbox with a oem lsd they are both equal from memory ;)

yep, the long shaft on the car with lsd fitted becomes as short as the other shaft..

there is 3 different lenghts of drive shafts

1.passengers side length(same on both factory lsd and non lsd box)

2.drivers side factory lsd box is the middle lenght shaft

3.drivers side factory non lsd box is the longest shaft

top is passengers
middle is factory non lsd
bottom is factory lsd

also worth mentioning when changing from toyota lsd gearbox to non lsd gearbox other parts are changed, apart from drivers side shaft and rear mount-

1.the 2 front bolts on the rear mount......the lsd gearbox has an 1 extra long bolt that is to long for the factory non lsd mount.you need to get another bolt the same lenght as the shorter one that is already there.

also, if changing from factory non lsd to factory lsd gearbox, the above applys in reverese, i.e. you need to get the longer bolt as the only 1 of the short ones will be able to reach the hole.

2.when changing from factory non lsd to factory lsd, an extra bracket can be bolted in place. the lsd gearbox mount has 3 bolt holes, the non lsd gearbox mount has 5.

the extra 2 holes on the sides act as a brace/support, whereas there was an extra bracket on the lsd box to do the same job
