Any body used one of the cheaper oil cooler kits from eBay? There 145 quid and looks ok? Just wondered if they had any problems or were not to bad!? Thanks

Not necessarily, what's the car going to be used for? Unless your seeing oil temps 120Deg and higher it's not worth it.

If you're getting one, make sure you fit an in-line thermostat that opens up when the oil is at a certain temp or you will be cooling oil that doesn't need to be cooled, in some cases not getting up to normal temps,

prob not really gonna track it much, more as a bit of fun on the weekends. would you just fit a oil temp gauge instead? whats the best method of getting a gauge tapped into the oil lines?

I would advise getting an oil temp and pressure gauge, then decide if you need an oil cooler. You can fit the gauges either by t piece into the pressure line, there's a thread in the useful section on here, or the other method is to buy sandwhich plate which fits between the oil filter and the housing, on most you can run upto 3 gauges off them.
