ive recently bought a replacement engine for my glanza, the engine is out of an ep82 and i know i need to swap over the thermostat housing and inlet manifold due to different setup between ep82 and ep91. what other things would you helpful chaps recommend i replace while im at it?

already gonna do the timing belt and filters etc. should i change the pulleys? and will i need any new bolts etc.

also will it be safe to run the new engine once everything is in without having to tamper with ecu a bit?

Pulleys will be fine as you say just give at a real good service and.clean up. change cam belt and auxiliary belts. may be.worth looking at changing the oil and water pumps depending how many miles its done.

Also check for signs of leaking from both crank seals (little one cam belt side and big.one.behind.the flywheel.) there a ball ache to.change once engine.and gear box are all back in so worth a look.

The ecu can't be mapped or tinkered with if its the stock one. you'd need an.aftermarket one like emanage or a.self.learning plug and play like jam.
