Hello Guys/Girls,

Ive finally got my frount mount intercooler plumbed in and sorted, had quite a few problems. Anyway for all those who are running 1Bar on a standard CT9 I have a couple of questions for you:

1) At what rpm's do you hit 14psi/1bar and what gear? i.e. mine is 2nd gear @ 4k rpm, 3rd gear 3.2k rpm and so on.

2) How is your bov/dv responding? as mine react rather slow and now has crazy turbo stall/chatter.

Thank you for you input in advance

kei you should have an adjustable screw on the dv, wind the screw out a bit, it should help.

also have you removed the restriction in 1st and 2nd gear?

and to all those thinking of buying this kit, the intercooler is stupidly wide, you have to cut so much of the bumper off you may aswell not bother having a bumper at all really, and the fitment of the dv is different to the standard size pipe.

just a word of warning, as i cant remember any oif this being said.

other than those 2 niggles, it bolts together nicely and seems a qaulity bit of kit.

think thats a wee bit extreme!
ive seen few glanzas with them and theyve just cut about the same amount of the bumper as you would for an autobahn fmic:)

I had none of my front bumper left after i installed it but thats cause im an impatient bast**d is all but a varis bumper is lush with it imo.
The dv did sound different after it i must say

@ sx_turbo: yes ive removed restriction on 1st and 2nd just takes a fair bit of time to get to 1bar as oppose to my rx7 cooler.

@ mully: sx_turbo is not joking, you have to cut off stupid amounts including all bottom mounting flanges. reason why it LOOKS like people having cut much is 1)they got a front lip to cover it all up 2)the bumper isn't even bolted back in place properly, if you look at keirz i think he's zip tied the bumper on next to fogs.

now back to the topic of my thread......please....

Im asking people who own the intercooler themselves and run 1bar on stock turbo, just to compare my lag to theirs because in the hdi fmic thread people arent getting much lag if any.

And before anyone says.... yes i know there are a lot of variables with every engine being different etc.

@mully: uprated mani+decat+filter+exhaust but no boost controller just actuator, i used to get full boost at about 2800-3000rpm 2nd gear with an rx7 cooler.

Wouldnt mind at all if it was a td04 setup, i think its something to do with my baileys dv, slow to react so slow to build pressure as baileys stay open on zero throttle.

I have had no problems with my bailey dumpvalve.

I think that assessment is a bit harsh.

my dv was great with my rx7 cooler, couldnt be better! unless i dipped to clutch zero chatter.

At what revs are people getting full boost in 2nd gear?

cheers for the reply keirz, whats bugging me is what all ive done is change from rx7 tmic to hdi fmic. i used to boost @ 2800 as well in all gears, now i lag badly...... :(

i honestly witnessed no extra lag mate in any gear. i would completely remove the dumpvalve just block it up and then see if it has any effect.

you shouldnt have that much lag, you have a leak somewhere, if its not from exhaust note then it is most likely from intercooler path. check all hose clamps, etc. If you think it may be the dv then just reving it on idle you should be able to feel the push/pull from your hand over its outlet. If it was the same dv that you had before though then would expect it to be a vacuum hose or hose clamp etc.

@keirz: i will try and run without the vacuum pipe in for my dv so that will block it and see if that makes a difference.

@jf84: as sx_turbo said yes i have got the brass nipple in the piping of my actuator, as said was running 1bar perfectly.

@gtpornstar: i have also considered it being a leakage of some sort but it holds 1bar fine just takes its time getting there. will double check plumbing to be sure.

would my ecu have anything to do with it not boosting well? got a self learning ksrom, should i reset it?

would a leak in the manifold cause this much lag? 2nd gear full throttle 3800rpm-4000rpm boost spikes to 15psi then sits at 14psi perfectly. with rx7 cooler just sat at 14psi dead and got there easily by 2800rpm.

dane if your reading this anything you could think of?

cheers for the help guys
