Whatever.

my car doesnt spit any oil out of the exhaust or the breather. I'm not trying to be a prick and ruin your thread, just give my opinion on it as what you originally said sounded odd to say the least, and for mark to pipe up aswell meant i wasnt the only one.

I only try and help ppl out on this forum as there is a lot of bad and incorrect information given out by some people who dont really know what they are talking about, which is a big problem as this info gets listened to and problems are caused. when i get REP for proper reasons from members like rory and texx, on more than one occasion i cant be talking out of my arse now can i.

Anyways rant over.

All i know is, is that there is no need for more than one breather if your engine is in perfect running order ;)

mine was pumping oil ot of the breather, i thought it was the rings, stripped it to find the Piston itself had a hair line crack down it, and when cleaning them up, it broke off in my hand, i was a very lucky boy!!

I said nowhere about oil on the breather or so. I just said block breath = smoking issues.
I dont know if the pal has blown rings or anything ,ringland or whatever.
I am just with him on the part of the blocked breather thing.

Hey mate i have some points for you.

1) you do know you split oil all over the place without the pcv in position.(if you remove it totaly). It is the actual design of the valve that dont let the drops to come out.
And air mass in the crankcase carrys tinny oil particles...like a cloud..

2) Yours and Mark opinion is welcome. Come on..it is an open forum for discusion e.t.c

3)**is a lot of bad and incorrect information given out by some people who dont really know what they are talking about, which is a big problem as this info gets listened to and problems are caused.**
Can you transform this big bill ^^^^to coins please..:p
I dont see bad or incorect information too often and when it happens dosent stand to much time..;)

4)***when i get REP for proper reasons from members like rory and texx, on more than one occasion i cant be talking out of my arse now can i.***

LOL ofcource you can..:p rorys ore terrys or mine or anyone else rep points dosent automaticaly transform you to something else from what you are.
I rep people for the willing to help regardless if their reply is as helpfull as a reply from Terry lets say. I take it..and you should take it the same..rep is a mirror of your own carachter feature and proves that you try to help people..and ofcource if you try to help ..you need some knowlege to back it up.

chris i know that you and others know their stuff.

but as you say yourself, the oil could just be a symptom of blocked breather causing the excessive pressure build up and subsequent bay mess . OR it could be blown rings.

you have given your reasoning and have isolated that reasoning for the problem of the breather/oil mess/catch can etc. which i do understand,

how does the oil get from the engine to the exhaust??? past the sparkplugs? past the injectors? no. past the rings. this fella has oil up his back bumper not just over his rocker/catchcan setup. it would you would have to agree point to ring(or more exactly on the 4e complete ringland) failure.

and i also am not ruling out the possibility that his rings are fine, and have just passed a little oil under pressure but weakboy mark are right that rings is a strong possibilities given the symptons and the new system "could" now just be masking the issue better that the stock setup. neither of those guys were justing trying to annoy whiteglanzav.

if your motor is in good nik you should be able to run a filter directly on the rocker cover and only get oil vapour/residue around the filter on the rocker cover (a light film of oil) it shouldnt be pushing oil out of it though..

hey lads, was readin through all these threads last few days

and recently my glanza sprayed oil out the breather filter on the rocker cover

since then ive taken the head off thinking it might be the rings but im thinking its just head gasket cos compression was down in cyclinder 2 and 3
and on the gasket the seal has worn away between the 2

but am i right in assuming if its the rings there would be oil on plugs, in the exhaust etc?

thanks in advance :)
