Fuel Cut Problem............

from the picture in your gallery mick you could probably get away with taping up the entire outside as the centre has the cold air feed.

if the housings crack without porting then they could never withstand porting then without failure, i stand corrected

Depends how you look at it, the cracks are forming due to heat, so with a slightl larger hole, the gas has a larger expanse to go through, so less friction, so less heat.

Either way, after being on here for nearly 3 years I've only ever seen one complete failure of a housing

Even with hair line cracks they will still hold boost most of the time unless it's beyond the point of no return. The stock actuator isn't that bad it's just the springs loose there tensile strength over time, uprated ones like our TT actuators or the HKS come with much stronger springs to begin with. Stock is fine for what it was intended for, Toyota didn't make them with boost increase in mind over stock so it did the job when new.

Mick have you read this:

Makes it easy to understand. I think some were comparing bleed valves and others MBC's hence the confusion.

Yahoooo!

I taped thw whole of the outside, and it doesnt creep that much.

Its funny, seems to boost almost to a bar (had be flinching my right foot lol) and then it decreases over 5 - 5.5k revs back down to about 0.7 lol

So it kinda creeps, but then loses boost if that makes sence?

My actuator is long setting, so im guessing thats 0.7 BAR.

i'd say that more down to the restriction on the filter mate, as the engine speed increases it'll need more air, try trimming back on the tape untill you are getting a nice level boost and power delivery
