hello, i was just wonderin if my car is over fuelin. i fill up 35 ponds off super unleaded, and i get 223 miles ,-360 km as my car is still in km.

i drive the car normal and sometime put it on to high mode, i allways allways let the car warm up and cool down every time,

the mods i have is just a blitz induction kit and a rx-7 tmic.
the boost is normal nothing has been messed around

Afraid not mate, i rarely even see that much! Although mine has a lot done to it, my old on (basically stock) was much the same :(

Sounds about right to me to be honest I can get 250 to tank but I run all the way down to just below last line the tank is bigger at the bottom:D

the lower boost button will improve economy! thats why its there if theres less air being put into engine the ecu will put less fuel in.

the factory boost restriction in first and second gear was there for traction!

how can it be running outside its powerband?
toyota mapped it for low boost (112bhp) and high boost (133bhp)?

i gets 500km on full tank in 240+bhp glanza but i usualy dont drive hard

You dont get 310 miles on a full tank unless the Glanza has a different size fuel tank to the ep82?

The low boost button isnt realy for fuel economy it is for traction purposes.

i personally find my cart is better on fuel in high boost also feels a better car to drive with it on high boost so its all good for me

that's not true, as nobody drives foot to the floor on 0.65 bar all the time. from what i gathered from when Jay posted in a similar topic, the low boost button is purely to aid traction in the wet/ice and has nothing what so ever to do with acting as a fuel economy feature.

in fact i remeber Jay saying that in many cases, the low boost button will decrease fuel economy becuase the engine is usually being worked harder (depending on the driver)

i disagree with that.

the low boost is much less responsive than on high boost. the turbo actually takes longer to spool on low boost than it does on high boost.

so if the turbo is spooling later in the rev range, you will put your foot down to compensate for the lack in power.

leave it on high boost the turbo spools quicker, and therefore you dont need to put your foot down to compensate.

e.g the vans i have at work, there are some 1.9d and some 1.9td's

we actually get around 5-6 more mpg out of the td's than we do the normal deisels, as the n/a deisels have to be worked much harder to make them move.

Just my $.02 but on low boost I did get 35MPG on the highway. I've alway had the car on low not to blow off on the local police, but I should start driving with higher boost and see if it affects mileage.
