remind them that they obliged by law to quote you. And if they say that they will not insure you because you are a certain age tell them you want that in writing from them as you will be seeking legal advice.

they will then send you a massive quote for 6000 euro or something but at least they will quote you.

i might get it yet from some half decent company that doesnt think the minute you mention the word glanza that your a "BOY RACER" which everyone i seem to talk to thinks:mad:

dont take it personally dude. They work off statistics and not their personal feelings. When I went to get my first insurance on a 1.1 106 they were looking for 4 grand!

Also I can tell you that on several occasions I have been stopped by police and asked to produce the full insurance certificate at a Garda station where it says GLANZA V TURBO on the cert. They are dead wide to people insuring Glanza's as 1.3 starlets its been done for years same with the 1.6 levins being insured as 1.6 corollas.. its not a risk I would take dude it might never go wrong but if it does it could go wrong spectacularly and you could end up in seriously deep shizzle.

i added my girlfriend onto my policy. she had little driving experience at the time and couldnt really drive very well at all tbh. she has had her licence about 3 years though but never had insurance in her name.

dropped my premium by 5%

i have had my licence 7 years, had 2 cars of my own at the time and no accidents convictions etc ever. adding me to my girlfriends insurance made hers go up when she got her first car? its unreal how much safer they think women are!

it only takes one copper to notice your intercooler/dump valve to realise its a turbo. insurance invalidated, 6 points, car towed, hefty fine.

m8 just put it down as JUST a 1.3 starlet end of story cause i no you wont sell it so STOP thinking about it and do it and you will be doing this soon :drive: :drive: :drive: Best of luck....

:holdit: You have to put it down as a glanza S, as that is what it is.

Its only a starlet at end a day, insure it as starlet s and dont bother putn it down as import! My old glanza s was insured as that and i got stopped in waterford and they checked everything and said it was grand, never said thing bou it being a import, i honestly wudn be worried about that! If its turbo its a different ball game! U ave insure it right because there popping bonnets and checking with insurance comps to see are they insured right as they also checked my turbo was insured right, they even checked to see had it disc brakes on the back but luckily i had it insured right!:rolleyes:! If insurance is that much a problem go under your mother/fathers name for a yr!:drive:

when i got my glanza v i asked what was the price if it was an s model for the crack in a few places and it wasnt much different in price. Even with the glanza, age and no claim bonus and full licence and my sex loads of companines said u mus be ova 25!! and others told me 2500euro. It mite be cuz of past glanza turbos being insured as non turbo and then crashing that you have a bit of bother insuring a 1.3 starlet (dont bite me i call my glanza that) that happens to be a nicer car from japan!

I think this cuz id a non turbo (gt/gi) and it was grand to insure even when i didnt have the pink licence and fck all experience. Insurance companines didnt know what it was and i used just describe it and make sure twas insured as an import. At the end of the day the boy racer stamp is a gud money making thing and that wont change. My first insurance was with royal and son alliance through brokers btw.
