Glanza v Koni shocks and RSR springs

Hi guys,

Recently purchased a glanza v with Koni yellow shocks and RS-R springs fitted..

It has slipstreams fitted also which are 15" and have 195 / 50 toyo proxes tires..

I found that this suspension seems to crash over bumps.. I turned the front shocks on lowest and it was ok but there was ALOT of body roll .. so i have tightened them up again now.. it just seems that even on hard setting they roll quite a bit and crash over bumps..

The car also has more power than standard and so the front lifts up when acclerating and then dips hugeley when i change gear.. i will be getting an Anti-lift kit / New engine mounts/ gearbox mounts and a tourque damper to help with this but i think alot of it is down to the suspension..

I'm now thinking of going for some coilovers.. Meister R or BC racing as the last setup i had on my EP82 was tein monofex and thats one extreme to the other lol ridiculously hard..

I have bought this car after selling my Civic type R EK9.. it was standard and i know they are famous for their suspension but i thought the koni's shocks and RS-R springs would have been a decent setup but it just seems too soft still.

Wandered if anyone has used or owns this setup currently and wandered how they find it ?? its annoying how it isn't really that stiff but still crash's over bumps.

thanks for any input :)

What do you mean "I turned the front shocks on lowest " ? On adjustable coilovers the "higher" you turn them the stiffer the suspension is and the higher the ride.

The koni's have adjustable damping but the height is fixed - they're just shocks not coilovers.

Maybe the RSR springs aren't a good match for the Koni's - I've heard that Konis with whiteline springs make a very good set up for road use but they will still give less body control than coilovers.

I run meister r's and rate them very highly for road use (after having cusco's and bc's too) damping isn't too harsh and there's virtually no body roll. They're very compliant for coilovers.

I've got some yellow koni's on my glanza, and it doesn't crash over bumps and handles very nice. I've got other springs, but theye are really cheap. Front is set to the maximum, and back is on the softest setting. But have a rear anti roll bar to, that seems to do the trick

I had apex springs with my Koni's and had good results, then changed to D2 coillies, which were changed for a TRD set of shocks with RS-R springs which were fantastic
