Some pretty interesting views here guys. Things have gone from bad to worse up here in Manchester, with the gun violence. Alot of the times, the incidents are not even reported anymore because its such a regular occurence.

I made a documentary a few months back for my final uni project, based on the gun violence in south manchester.
It was a pretty moving experience, meeting the victims families etc.
This epidemic has been going on for way too long now, and alot of these guys and even kids now are dying needlessly.

Since then Ive been working with a group called Mothers Against Violence. I now run their myspace page (Still in the development stages) -www.myspace.com/mothersav
If you have lost a loved one to gun violence, or know anyone that has, and you want them to be remebered on the page, u2u me and I'll be more than happy to include them on the page.

Not to sound like a c*nt or anything but kids rule society at the moment!

Getting to the point in some places where the police are afraid of kids...

have to agree. i live in a nice area but i find that other areas local to me the kids are running riots. gone are the old days when they could be kept in line with a clip behind the ear. makes me sick:shoot:

There was a discussion on a local radio program here. One mother that called said she will continue to beat her children when they get out of line (many parents here still do, many don't) and if the law courts ever tell her she cannot hit her children to discipline them, then the law courts can keep the kids. There is no way that she as a mother will bring children into the world just for others to tell her how to keep them on the up & up. Those who want to do so can just keep the children and do what they want, she isn't rearing any gangster or thieves. Made me smile to hear we still have some common sense over here. It's fading fast sadly though :(

i dont see nothing wrong with owning a peice. If the police cant stop criminals or peoplewho are after you, then why not take matters into your own hands and deal with it yourself, unless your a pussy that is. And they look nice;)

Guns do look nice :D

This is some of my collection of sporting pistols and rifles.

Got a few others that i've not got pictures of yet. Seen the armed response so many times with neighbours complaining about me owning them.

i had the crossman berretta .22 co2 semi auto with the lazer hawk, loved every minute of it. I dont see anything wrong with owning some sweet hand guns as long as you are able to 'respect ' them. Nothing wrong with guns, its the people behind them that mess things up. And mostly if someone gets shot, its usually for a pretty good reason. (not promoting gun crime in any way)

exactly, as i said above come the 1st of october the new law comes out that stops young people and those not passionate about shooting from buying or importing guns, if your not a registered member of a shooting club then you basically can't buy from a shop or 2nd hand as you need to produce a membership card that the goverment issues.

There will be the odd dodgy deal that still gets done 2nd hand no doubt but they run the risk of prison if caught without proper papers.

Goverment should get tougher on punishment instead of adopting the "Hug a hoodie approach".

it dont matter how hard the law gets about guns, they will always be widely available if you know the 'right' people. Theres a shop close to my house wich sells guns to anyon over the age of 18 inc air rifles and bb guns

Come 1st of october they won't be allowed to anymore and even if they do they run the risk of heavy fines and prison. The law is getting tougher on guns, it's just took them till now to finalise a law which all parties are happy with in the sporting world wither it be shooting clubs and airsoft events.

Will be interesting to see how it plays out but no doubt another goverment flop to get everyone to register and issue them with a bit of plastic and charge the earth to make a fast buck to pay out to some failed project.

U know iv been thinking ( that is after reading 3 pages of havoc) that the uk is really turning out into a film.. do u guys know the film "28 days later" ?

well for those who dont a virus called "rage" gets into ppl & leaves the uk being locked away from the world & everybody ripping the fuck out of each other...

i know its far fetched & very different to the present situation, however im pretty sure that if u add a little imagination it wouldnt b far off from the truth..

just my usless 2c on the topic lads..

You're not far wrong their Kon. I wouldn't say it was the just the UK either. Every country will have it's fair share of violence. We are but a race destined to destroy ourselves, which really is a shame when you look at how far we've come in terms on technology.

i have jus been ready the entire thread on guncrime, and it has indeed pinned the tail on the donkey on allsubject. the united kingdom could be such a good place. going back some years peeople from all over the world wished they could live in the england as it was so free, the currency is of high value, people so friendly you felt save enulf. now a days people dont even no 1 or even 2 people leaving on the same street, (no neighbourly love).

its getting way out of hand now, which makes you feel that humanity its self is coming to an end. um 21, i have done my fair bit of trouble when i was 14-15years. but as soon as my parents got word of my behaviour i was shipped of to jamaica where my eyes was open to so much (long story).

i think anyone convicted of gun crime should be trained for 2 weeks and sent to afganistan to fight with uk troops to get a wake up call. only then will they realize the meaning of life and how to make use of it.

Here's food for thought - I used to live in Saudi for 15years, and go there every holiday...now, the Western world always overblows the whole "Terrorists live there" thing, there is Anti-Foreigner feelings there, but regardless...I feel much safer there than I do in the UK, and I live near the American Consulate that was attacked not long ago

In the UK I have to be out with a group, I hate walking around on my own...and I'm 21 years of old...You simply don't get muggings, stabbings, drunken/drugged up violence, random shootings, gang warfare etc...This country is seriously going down the drain, which is why after University it's Asta La Vista
