Heater Matrix Leaking

10mm nuts hold most of the boxes to the bulkhead. You can remove the main heaterbox if the other two are loose but to be honest it's easier to wrestle it out of there once they are removed completely.

Once you have the heater box out the matrix can be slid out the top. A bracket holds it in place so remove that and you are almost at the fun stage - putting it all back together!

Looking at the state of cabin at the moment and all the parts on the kitchen table I have a feeling it's not going to be that much fun... :)

I have a feeling my neighbor's kids might be learning some new bad words when i am putting the puzzle back together... Any joy with those pics of the box mate?

So i managed to get some time today before the light faded, and i got the heaterbox out :)

(...and yes, i did the triumphant "yeaaaahh" and held it above my head like a trophy)

Anyway, i am happy to report that the matrix was the cause of the leak, there is a leak about half was up the middle of the rad...
It also looked like someone had bubbleguts after a curry inside the box from the leak, so i have cleaned up the box, also getting rid of the manky smell that was getting blown around from the leak...

I will reassemble the box in the morning with the replacement matrix and then begin the fun part.... the rebuild...

I was just about to post up the pics of it to :)

Good job in getting it all out, I managed to get my crack in mine fixed today so its ready to go back in. I just need to clean up the box first before putting it back in. Then the fun begins macker! AT least if I've forgot where something goes you might be able to help!

It won't let me view those pics :(

I put the matrix back into the box today and cleaned it up a little but it will have to wait until the week if I get time before I start chucking it back into the car. Got a busy week or work ahead :)

It's only taken you 6 years lol..

Still quicker than my pace! :haha:

I cant believe i put it off for so long haha...

Right, now that your here Jay, help me out....
Everything is working fine since now that the dash is all back together, but i just noticed that both reverse lights are not lighting up....
... It might just be blown bulbs but im sure they were ok, so i am thinking the culprit might be a forgotten plug when reassembling... can you tell me where abouts is the reverse switch plug located, or even if it is behind the dash... just so i can give it a quick check to see if its unplugged just not home... might even be the fuse...

Reverse switch is in the engine bay on top of the gearbox Mack, look for it joining the loom at the same place as your temp sender connectors.
