and if they can do what they've done with cigarettes, then why cant they do that with booze????

the reason they wont ban either of them completely, is bacause of public outrage, and the fact they will lose out on plenty of cash.

i think we may be going slightly of subject here aswell lol :slap:

Its not really null and void though is it? I mean they dont suddenly not put a strain on the nhs because your introduced factors such as imigrants and alchohol which is not being discussed,

In regards to booze, i dont think they will ever ban it.

i meant you cant say that smokers put a huge strain on the nhs, as there are many other things that put a strain on the nhs aswell.

it's just people for some reason pick on smokers, like police pick on drivers

Smokers are one of the biggest contributers to the NHS. Thats why I like to smoke duty frees, fuck the system! lol

And no, they could put the most horrific images in the world on packets and it still wouldn't change my mind. I'm an addict, I enjoy my addiction and I'll end it when I choose not when I'm told or pressured to.

I smoked for about 3 years.

I developed a really bad smokers cough

The thing that made me pack it in was when developed a white patch on my tongue i thought enough was enough.

Never looked back since it was not easy quitting tho.

I've stopped before for a bit it is quite easy as long as your occupied. Gonna start saving for Ibiza soon so if I stop that will cover the cost.

They don't want you to quit at all, they would lose lots and lots of money. However they can't be seen to be leaving the citizens of this country to do damage to themselves without knowing the risks of what they are doing. Just like the smoking ban isn't punish smokers or try to get people to stop smoking, it's to protect us non-smokers from breathing in your filth.

Well I can, and I will. Ahem, Smokers put a huge strain on the NHS. If this was a binge drinking thread I'd say the same. The number of strains on the NHS doesn't matter, this thread is about smoking and it's true.

By the way, children under 16 who don't work and therefore don't pay N.I. are a bigger strain than immigrants, especially legal ones who do pay N.I.
