Help! Overheating after rebuild

Hi guys,

I was having some overheating problems on heavy loads(high throttle for 30secs, maintain at high speed) initially.

My mechanic got the head out, skimmed the head(there was warpage), replaced the pistons rings and rod bearings and fit it all back.

After doing some running in, I brought the car up to the same situation as before thinking that the overheating problem is gone. To my horror, the engine temperature still rises above half when I pick up speed. Any idea why this is happening?

The entire cooling system is clean, the thermostat is new, and the water pump seems seems fine as it was replaced 1year ago.

What are the chances of the block deck surface being warped? Running on stock headgasket btw

presume your fan is working...when cold start open rad cap start engine leave it warm up and see if the water in the rad is flowing

its very likely that the block was warped. didnt the mechanic check it at least with a straight edge?

my head was less warped than the block when i rebuilt it. was all within tolerance though, i have no coolant related problems.

Start with bleeding the cooling system, check the fans get hot in the car and the fan cuts in like aidan said

running a ct12.9 hybrid on 0.9bar. Howeer, the overheating problem occured even before the ct12 upgrade. Used to even overheat at 0.9bar on a ct9a.

As for the block warpage, the mechanic didnt check it with a straight edge sadly. But even if THAT is causing the overheating, my coolant and engine oil color still isn't milky.
Funny how the reservoir tank doesn't fill up to the brim(assuming we have a warped block and pressure is escaping)

The fans are running fine with strong wind and cuts off when it's supposed to and the system has been bled over and over again.

I am currently running on a Charade G200 Espri 4efte with the daihatsu original short 2-layer radiator and never faced problems with overheating in the first 2years after the transplant.

Am tempted to get a Daihatsu L2 Aluminium radiator, replacing the water pump and thermostat. The two latter has been replaced a year ago though. Any signs of water pump failing? Radiator water flow is fine.

Got the alu rad, still overheating. It got worse and found out that the block was warped. Slapped on a metal headgasket and it was still overheating. I will be downsizing the condenser i guess
