O yeah there stock internals are good for 270-280bhp?

if you get the 1.6 or the early 1.8 (mine) they both have a 9.1 comp ratio so canbe boosted easily wihtout to much worry and run anything from 160-250 with peice of mind.
depending on managment.

my 1.8 with the t25 at 0.5bar is awsome, compaired to my gt its piss slow but its a hell of alot more fun around the corners!

Couple of examples here for you mate...

Mazda 323 GTR:

180sx:

Only thing about the Mazda 323 GTR, there rare as rocking horse poo. Parts can be expensive but apart from that i believe there around the same cost for insurance as a 106 Gti (iirc around group 14). Weigh less than your normal scooby/evo and with a little bit of money spent on her can easily be much quicker than one :).

Indeed i would.
But its an Insurance thing.

Company insurance permits me to drive any car, up to 1.8 for one year. after that i can have whatever i like.

That 180sx looks nice, but surely the sr20det is a 2 litre?

SR20 is from the 200SX

I think the 180SX uses the C18 which is a 1.8

Sorry dude but thats not the way it works at all.

UK 200sx s13's have the ca18det while the jap 180sx's (1991 onwards) have the sr20det

I have been looking and rx7s seem to come into a bit of a grey area.

It seems that if it says 1.3 on the logbook, then insuring as a 1.3 is tottally legal.

Afraid that ain't gonna cut it no more as insurance companies are all too aware of the rx7 now and treat ALL of them as group 20

It depends on what the insurance company classes it as.

Also it doenst matter what class it is, As long as its under 1.8!
