hi, im new

GTdan

In The Closet
welcome aboard - i was in a similar prediciment to you - had similar amount to spend when i bought mine in august - but had to sell my car first (fto).
Anyway - i decided i wanted a quadlight gt and not a glanza, in either white or black, managed to pick a very good spec and mint example (168bhp) for £1800, was originally up for £3k, but needed it gone asap as it had been up for around 6 weeks and new car was coming the following week.
The only downfall was that i had to travel to portsmouth - £100 on the train and 4 hour drive home....so be prepared to travel for a decent car...dont buy local just because its cheap and near by...

after reading through the forum a bit and seeing about the insurance difficulties then i think that i will go for the gt, as i am currently with admiral and they dont insure glanzas, and i dont want to change my insurance company and lose vital ncb, as i have already been screwed out of 2 years in my 3 n half years driving due to useless companies deciding after 11 months of insurance that they dont insure under 21's and another not wanting to insure my new car when i changed it. at least i can just change the car over.

the main problem i have atm is trying to sell a convertable when the weather is shite!! i may have to drop the price a bit to get it moving or maybe even ebay her.

so what to do...............lol

Welcome aboard....

Have to say I do love both, but i slightly sway more to the GT as I find it a bit more meaner.... (if that makes sense)....

Hope you find one soon,

Happy posting,

M's :)

yea i know exactly what you mean, i think the glanza looks more appealing because its got a more modern look to it.

i have to sell the mx first, so could be a while before im in a starlet but will give me plenty of time to read up on them and find out all the niggly things to look out for etc, would have to be a facelift gt and of course a manual
