It depends on the intercooler! (not it's position).

well it does depend on position because an intercooler relies on airflow to cool it, so cover it up and it will do worse job, and put it on top of a hot engine and its gonna be hotter so not cool the air as much. scooby intercoolers also have a nice metal heat guard around them that starlet ones dont have

Cut a nice hole in your bonnet, extend the pipes and have the IC on top of the bonnet but raised at an angle! perfecto y0!

yea without a doubt i notice my cars a little big more sluggish in the hot weather , an more responsive in the cold. hence why i want too get a quadbike lol

i read somewhere before that in hotter weather especially with turbo charged cars the hotter air flows around the car easier than cooler air... cooler air is more dense and filled with water particles therfore reaching intercooler surfaces more easier (especially tmic's).. so in theory a car with less aerodynamics properties will get better cooling on hotter days... when subaru were designing the impreza they had problems with their cooling of the tmic as the aerodynamics were very good with this car.. simple fix.. bigger scoop for intercooler on bonnet 2 grap the air and water injection (i/c spray).. i myself the last few days noticed bad lag with my car.. today is overcast and less warm and car is boosting right again..

I cant really be bothered to read all that to be honest with you,

but what you said is half true. As the position will also have an effect. The more air that can hit it the better, the cooler the intercooler the better. Fact.

There isnt exactly huge technology in an intercooler. There is only so much better one can be then another.
