sorry to jump on the thread but im also curious about this one i bought my glanza with these engine mods-

Hks evc 5 boost controller
Hks (fcd)
Adjustable Fuel pressure regulator
Hks air filter
dumpvalve
magnecore leads

It ran 12.8psi fine

I have now
bought ready to fit -

Hks actuator
new ct9 hybrid
decat
walbro fuel pump

I was going to fit it all then take it to be set up for about 13-14psi

Am i going to need it mapping or just setting up ?

Thanks im quite new to the starlet so ule have to excuse me.

If you keep the boost low and intend on getting it mapped at some point with either an E-Manage or SAFC you will be ok.

The fuel pressure reg is a crude way of adding more fuel to compensate for the increased airflow but it does work.

Hope this helps

im gonna get a uni chip adffter i get my hybrid....but as soon as i get my hybrid im taking it a rr to see if they would say its ok for no emanage-uni chip etc of course...im gonna get a uni chip,....in the future though

i dont see why its not possible not to just swap the turbo, then use the car how it was before??

If you have a pfc f-con you just need to change it to the correct map for fueling. This shouldn't cost much at all. All the tuner need to do is a very short road or rolling road tune. Not even an hours work.

edit

Pfc f-con has 9 maps on it and only to different types one for hybrids and one for the ct9 tho both should cope fine. you should see good results on it. With a gcc too it will be far better than a safc.

There we go Gav, I am going to Thor just outside Birmingham next month if you want to come up the same time.

fit the safc yourself, its only 4 wires, and is a peice of piss to do. then pay someone £150 to tune it.

i cant say of any good rr's up your end of the world as i live down south.

a hybrid turbo, or any different turbo is alot different than the standard ct9,

so if your running .6 bar on a ct9 and .6 on a td04 the td04 will surely be sucking in alot more air because of its mass than the ct9. so without the extra fuel to compensate for that extra air its gonna be a complete mess.

and plus the standard fuel map will be set out to compensate the ct9 so when the ct9 is dying off the td04 etc will only just be coming to life.

i just personally dont think its a good idea at all.

and tbh gavcollier no offense but whatever turbo car you have if your gonna mod its never bloody easy mate its all money and time! if you think its too much hassle then just leave it standard?
