I've got a Dave B Hybrid and @ .8bar it made 207bhp and 180odd lbs/ft. Pulls like mad and doesn't take long to get to full boost. I'm more than happy with it. Now if only I could stop it wheel spinning in 1st and 2nd! lol

I thought about going hybrid but i spoke to a few people and a couple of tuners they said they where laggy and you dont get much more out of them, im running 1 bar on a stock ct9 and made 191bhp and 185torque and i hit full boost by 2.5k. Might be worth having a stock ct9 re-built and run a bar.
Just on option i spose

idea of a hyrbid is that you can run higher boost ie around 1.2 bar on them, maybe even a bit more than that, so where as the normal ct9 runs out of puff at 1bar, the hyrbid has more to give.
with my hybrid im hitting full boost by 3200, but starts to spool like a normal ct9, and majority of hyrbids see at 1bar around 200bhp.

Alot of money for 10bhp or so

Emanage yes external wastgate no still internal wastegate sexy boy:kiss:

ahhh my bed, what you was running external like kelly was :)

well in that case, you should see around 200 without management at a bar from what ive read on a hybrid.
also a hrybird is another way of reducing boost creep as they tend to have larger wastegates than the normal ct9 therefore reducing creep, only way to combat this on a standard ct9 is to external.

they tried to do them internally gated but it just didnt work, but yeah they should work ok if externally gated.

but playing with extremes to gain top end power and keep lag to a minimum leaves you with a massive cold side and tiny hot side! it cant be a very easy to keep that sort of turbo balanced!

My hybrid made 221bhp and 215 lbs/ft of torque at 1.1 bar. Nick Jones has recently turned the wick up to a tadd under 1.3 bar and it spools just as quick as a ct-9, Brett

my experience of a big CT based turbo is it deffo needs to be externally gated, and if you're after reliable power above 225bhp, look at the td04 or other variants.

boost control on mine is non-existant, it's either 22psi or 22psi, and while it's makes good power and is fast (relatively speaking) it's not gonna last, a fair plume of blue smoke is present when the car is pushed now :(

time for a change. :)

Where Tong's CT9 Hybrid available from pls? and you may need to send yours to be converted in a Hybrid ? and for what money? as im looking to Hybrid sooner or later. Also theres Speedvision one which i must know more about them too pls

Im running a Blitz K1 mate which in a way is like a hybrid Ct9.
Have it set to only .8bar but boost comes on very strong and holds out right up the rev range. Im looking forward to getting it mapped safely around a bar to see whats she's like.

Only problem is these Turbo's are very rare and there's only a handful of us on the site running them.
