what cams, head work have you had done or is it still stock?

i bet theres more power to be had from that if a decent tuner was used ;)

paul tends to run cars way to rich therefore not letting them acheive there optimum power.

but at least it's safe.

is a good figure though and is what i want to be acheiving shortly

great result there.

Do you see where i was coming from now in the other thread about 400BHP. Just wait and see the result as it may not reach quiet that figure and from a buyers point of view wouldnt be too great.

But hay thats in the past :)

can see what you mean and i did edit the title on the first post after that actually but yes is in the past... it is fun on the road i found out and quite handle able its tuned well more to come thanks for all the comments on it good and bad ill update the site as to my times and next power figures when it is remaped

i find his dyno inacurate.

and i bet if other people were to tune them big hp cars, other people will get better results.

problem is not many people tune hks, apexi pfc, and unichip's.

and yes i am fully aware that he has mapped a few big hp cars, and big hp starlets,

they may get big power but how much of that is down to the parts that are bolted to the engine more than his tuning?

ask him for an afr printout i bet most are running richer than they need to be

i'm not saying paul hasnt done good, i'm just saying i reckon there is more power to be had.

i'm not going to go through all the in's and out's of what i think, or and know as this is hybrid grants thread.

all i said is i reckon there could be more power from that

what are you on abbott made 250 on at fusion, and made 249 at pauls, not may people tune PFC and F-CON are you talking out your arse, have you not noticed that there are a fair few tuners out there and people go to pauls for a reason, know's what he's on about, dont pull your pants down for price's and dont give no crap excuse like abbott got at fusion, he ran out of time to turn the boost up LOL

yes there isnt many tuner out there that have got the certificates to tune the pfc and hks fcon and dastek unichip

so no i am not talking out my arse.


there is more tuners out there that cant tune the above than there is that can.

i wouldnt trust my hard earned cash with fusion motorsport either.

i am talking purely from experiance here,

i'm not doubting that paul can do some great things with mapping, it's more the fact he is an arrogant arse and cant be bothered with most cars unless it's something special or interesting for him.

again i know from experiance

and again, all i said was i think a different more competent tuner will get a better result.

as he tends to be extremely safe when it comes to tuning

Thought this was sold for £8k ? Did it not all go through ?
Had a good look over this motor when at Daves garage.... Looks savage and loving the carbon goodies and Pink JDM stickers on the windows :rockon:

Doesn't that contradict itself?

You don't need certificates to be able to tune an ECU also, infact, there all pretty much the same.

What SX is saying that you can run the afr on 12 where some tuners to be safe still run it on 11's or even 10's thus sacrifising performance they still get good bhp figures but could be better if leaned a bit to get the best performance out!

My tuner is like that he is the best one there is in malta (not pricewise :p) but he tends to keep them too rich ( i have been told that when i accelerate hard it smokes like a diesel from under the car!) Im doing 80miles with 16ltrs of fuel and my car was set at 7psi boost and produced 135bhp!

wow thats alot of power from the standard cams and head...what td05 wheel is it?

If u look at most jap videos you'll see the cars puff a bit of black smoke on gearshift...dont think forged pistons are not destructible

i tink that power figure for the boost is damn good how rich cud it be

you do to tune the fcon, as they will only let certain tuners have there software ;)


ea tunes them to safe, i'm all for tuning things safe and a bit on the rich side, but he tunes them TOO rich.

i know this because both me and a mate left there with afr's of 9, which is so rich you suffer from bore wash and it basicaly has very little power to what it should have.

my mate in his mini just by getting the afr's right and the timing adjusted correctly at another tuner made 30bhp, and had a much smoother power delivery,

in fact i will ask him for copies of his graphs


and i said he can do great things because hks and dastek obviously gave him the software for a reason.

he just tends not to practice this on peoples cars
