Idle dropping when warm

Where can I find that mate?

i meant the big valve in the TB that closes and opens to let in air. u know dat obviously :)
try adjusting the idle screw. maybe idle had been set on ur car at cold start so when the engine gets warm and the revs drop ur car will try to stall.

Ok, sounds like the TPS is not set correctly, there should be no change in idle speed with the bottom 2 wires of the plug linked out when at idle. Another thing that can affect this is the wax stat that is built into the throttle body. Its purpose is to allow more air to bypass the throttle plate when its closed when the engine is cold, which is needed for cold running. Inside the mouth of the throttle body, before the plate and on the bottom there is a hole about 5mm in diameter, this is where the air comes into the wax stat and gets by passed round the plate.

Another thing you may need to check is the throttle stop screw has not been moved, the plate in the throttle body should be just closed when the cable cam hits the screw, it may take a little bit of adjusting between this and the idle air screw to get a decent idle speed. If doing this I would put that link back in as adjusting the screw adjusts the TPS.

OK thanks mate, looks like i will have to try this next as i swapped my ICV for my mates and the car is still doing it and cut out on me this morning when coming to a stop.

You mean the butterfly valve? I will try that as well and see if it makes any difference.

Really appreciate all the help guys, keep it coming!!

Only just had this same problem myself! Changed every sensor checked all the tps changed lambda icv etc cost me a few quid to find out it was just a case of a very slight adjustment to the screw ontop of the inlet manifold

yes i meant the butterfly valve. im having the same problem in my car. will check the ICV tmrw. im also getting a faint smell of petrol from somewhere but i just cannot find out the exact location. at one time its coming from under the bonnet near the filter and again inside the car at times and sometimes outside, underneath etc. checked at the pump and fuel lines underneath the car but no leaks. there isnt under the bonnet either. im sniffing all round the car and this smell doesnt come all the time. if i keep going like this i might have a chance to enroll at the police as a sniffer dog, lol ;-)

anyway this should help if you have an ICV problem-

BTW i removed the plug (wire) at the idle control valve today morning and the revs went up to around 1000 i reckon. is it normal or is the ICV stuck?

I've already cleaned mine, it made no difference. Mine cuts out if i disconnect it when the car is warm so sounds like yours maybe knackered.

Have you got a oil catch can? They can smell like fuel...

Well the idle screw was all the way down, so i have loosened it off a bit and it has completely solved the issue.

Lucky i didnt go spending loads of money getting it fixed!
