Because your mum won't be the person driving the car you will be!!!!!!!!

You won't have bother until you hit someone and the police realise the car was not insured properly.

Thanks for clearing that up leanne i used to work in insurance to so like i said all insurance companies are different. :)

john ime 18 mate with 3points on my licence and ime looking at paying 7k to insure it...unlesss i wait a year till 19 then it drops a little...being this young mate is bulls**t insurers automatically think ure a dangerous racer (dont now if you are) but ime not my points were of a mobile speed camera and i was keeping up with trafic i thought not being stupid...but like the other guys say dont insure it as a non-turbo as much as i have thought about it mate and as much as i want to drive my starlet right now as i love it to pieces.. ive come to the conclusion to wait until next year to drive it(like the guys said what happens if you crash into a veyron/ferrari???) so ime spending the money i would be paying on insurance on the car instead...but if you do find a decent insurer that will quote please let me now :p

some people probably do get away with it, but do you wanna be the one that doesnt?

i dont think id risk every posession i own and my familys possesions just for a car.

anybody that does it tbh doesnt deserve to drive there cars imo.

if you cant afford it, theres a reason there so expensive! there powerful hot hatch no wonder the premiums are high.

and it looks like youve got the tax book logged down wrong neway! it should say gt turbo

dont be stupid,

The log book is also your responsability to make sure its correct.

i had to splash out wehn i was 18 turning 19 to insure the GT so if you want the car pay the price! take your parents out teh equasion as i bet she wont be using it-ever.

you need to get your Log book coorrected(its free) and get the car put in YOUR name and Get YOUR OWN insurance for what the car actually is (a Turbo).

if you cant afford it its tough really. If you dont sure it correctly im sure youll reget it if someone crashed into you of you ditch it.

it makes NO difference at all what is on the log book.

Also - try cause a 5 car pile up involving a hundred thousand quid car and 50k claims from people sitting in the car and see if the insurance company doesnt go over evey tiny detail.

Its fine if you are claiming for a 4k car and a cople of injuries. Claim for a 100k car and millions in injuries and see how closely they check everything.

People who insure cars different to what they actually are are idiots and are only fooling themselves.

All over Ireland there are lads doing it in SC levins insuring them as 1.6 corollas etc... It only takes one bad accident and you are paying bills for the rest of your life.

If you cant put the car on the road legally then you shouldnt be driving it.

sorry mate... its stupid

and if he hit me and did damage and was insured incorrectly it would delay my pay out.. Ive no sympathy put it on the road right or dont put it on the road.

ultimately this is a stupid thing to do and even discussing this ILLEGAL activity is not wise. I dont want other younger members on here considering this becuase it is going to bite someone in the arse.

I know a great place for this thread...
