intake manifolds

85mm throttle is huge and make it a pain to drive. 60mm is biggest you'l ever need. i wouldnt touch the intake unless you've done everything on the exhaust side of the head first. manifold, turbo, exhaust are the biggest bottleneck and will give best gains for money. after your making decent power with those mods, look into a new inlet. be carefull tho. incorrectly built, or manifolds tuned to wrong rpm, will just make your car slower.

take a rev 1 mr2 turbo inlet and get it welded on the manifold. the valve lift surface area has got to be smaller then 50mm i would have thought. i have had renault turbos as well i am sure if you can get 300hp on a 27mm carb 50mm should cope easy with the power you want to put through it. 85mm christ that has got to be good for 1000hp it would look stupid and be pointless.

Throttle body

Seen that McChu has used a 4AGE throttle body on his EP91.

Now. I know that throttle body is used to contol air flow into the engine. But i dont know what the advantages are of using a 4AGE throttle body on a 4E-FTE.
Im guessing it is bigger allowing more air to flow into the engine. But im not sure.

Anyone able to enlighten me?

Cheers.

Nippon,

On to the point, Yes it will allow more air into the engine.
Running the type of power Mc is, the standard 4e throttle body could cause a restriction, therefor needing a larger throttle body.

**Edit**
Someone has shifted it for you, or you did.

I've merged this thread in with previous topics on inlet manifolds to offer you some background info. If you take a scan back you should see some potential setups mate.

Yep. Had a read through this thread. Lots of useful points. Liking what gorganl2000 posted about the throttle body diameters. Cheers geez. Rep added.
Rep also added for hardcoreep for his input.

is this manifold good for drag racing?

would stick with standard 4efte manifold over that. those manifolds are designed to increase torque down low in nanna spec n/a starlets ect.. not high rpm where it needs to be when running a bigger turbo. that bigger plenum wont make a huge diffrence either
