if you are talking 250 quid for a bumper...

1) from places local to me to get a full bumper painted you are talking about £150, especially something as big as a BMW bumper.
2) then the bodyshop will be adding more on top of that for repair work, which i would say at least £50 considering the amount of work needed to repair such a big hole.
3) from experience, large areas filled in like that, the isopon/filler can sometimes sink

for the sake of an extra few quid I would rather get a bumper, then you will know that it wont have any imperfections.

Just curious, if you know it was some idiot reversed into the car, why isnt the idiot paying for it anyway?

Labour costs are the killer for a repair like that, I would think you are looking at about £150 to £200 for a decent job to be done on it. Personally I think its to large a hole for the repair to stay un noticed for a good time, fibreglass and filler are not as flexible as the platics and cracks appear.

If a new bumper is £250 plus paint I would think you could pick up a good second hand bumper in the right colour for less than £150 and fit it yourself.

as others have said, it could be repaired but u would be better getting a new or second hand bumper, if something like that came into my work we would put a new bumper on.
