imo anyone that takes ant sort of pills or whatever that is, is a retard!

Agree never tried them never will. If you need to take pills to go out and have fun there is something wrong with you........

Well lads if you have no experience with such things then you really aren't in a position to comment and as for branding everyone who tries something a "retard", thats a very harsh thing to say. Would you say the same of someone that goers out and drinks? If not why not? They are both using substances to alter their moods, there isn't really a massive difference.

a mate of mine was saying its a heroin substitute? is that right?

No Dan they're not even chemically close to each other, they just have similar sounding names. Methadone is the heroin substitute.

I quite like mephedrone and have been doing some reading up on methylone, that also sounds good. It is only a matter of time before it is banned though, it seems all it takes to get something banned is for the media to get hold of it and a couple of irresponsible people take way too much of it, along with god knows what else and die. Always the minority spoil it for the majority.

lol i do everything far from by the book! its common sense, you take something into your body, that you don't have a clue what it contains, and could potentially kill you all for a "buzz", sounds like a retard to me!

maybe to you ,i have taken it myself and i would nt say im a retard i enjoy my life and if thats what gives me a "buzz" then so be it i cant see no harm in any moderate use and no doubt i will take it at some stage in the future ,.

you " COULD POTENTIALLY" be killed after walking down to the shops so i live my life with no regrets if i want to experience some highs every now and again i will thats the way i look at life it might not suit you but it has worked for me so far :):)

ya tried a lot of things in my teens but i would nt go as far as calling people retards some people on here annoy me the same yesterday with the speeding thread , some of them must have no lives at all and do everything by the book as anytime someone admits to doing something wrong they condemn them as if they never done something wrong or tried anything they shouldnt have ,

its just annoys me so much fucking " keyboard warriors ":p:p:p

x2 soooooo much! Guys, no need to get so high and mighty if you havnt tried something...you want my approval is it??:):p Im happy for ye but everybodys different. My attitude is: If you never try then you never know..life is all about experineces and for me so far so good:p Had the time of my life on mdma at prodigy 2 years ago;) and mushys...dont get me started...oh so much fun!:)

Dont think ill try mephodrome..a tad to hardcore for me...sure I dont know when to stop drinking as it is!:haha:

i don't drink either, but i wouldn't say that about drinking, i've never heard of anyone dying from having a few drinks, not talking about alcoholics, just the average person that goes out for a few!
maybe retard is a bit harsh, each to there own and all that, but its just not for me.

@popsy the shop scenario is totally different, you're making the conscious decision to ingest this stuff, even though you know it could kill you, if your killed going to the shops, its not exactly as a result of something you've done is it?!

I've never heard of anyone die after having a little bit of mephedrone. But I have heard of people dying from drinking way too much in 1 night and I have heard about people dying from doing way too much mephedrone and mixing it with other drugs. Like everything in life moderation and self-discipline are the key.

In what setting do you guys like to use it? I've used it out once but I wasn't a massive fan, its obvious you've taken something and you drink (or atleast I do) far too much then when the meph wears off your left completely wankered from the booze. Although its being touted as a "dance" drug I quite like it in a quiet setting, maybe with a couple of friends with a couple of beers and then just hammer the tunes from youtube, makes for a really good, friendly and chatty night.

hey hey this is brilliant come on site of a monday and see a wee bit of a drug debate going on....
Fantastic...
How many people you think are scagging at the moment looking at this...:p

My opinion on this is simple each to their own as long as they aint doing any harm to you or anyone close to you then so what....
Alot of the most intelligent and prosperous people we know have tried some sort of illegal substance at one time or another and could continue to do so also....
But just cause we may not know theyre doing it,, dont mean we should treat people we do know on them any different...
Give your opinion ya your entitled to that but imo treat everyone like you would like them to treat you regardless...

Was wondering how long it would take for a thread like this to pop up given the amount of media attention this stuff is getting.

I am quite liberal when it comes to individuals rights. On this occasion however I would urge caution. The Chinese chemical manufacturers are producing these chemicals and shipping them to our shores with zero quality control. Lets just say this stuff is totally harmless or fairly harmless and put the actual substance effects to the side for a moment. The Chinese killed their own kids by dumping chemicals in to baby food products to boost the protein content. They send kids toys to our countries with lead paint on them etc and these are manufactured for the big named toy manufacturers so imagine the rubbish they could be using in these so-called legal highs.

Interestingly another one of the UK drug advisory council has recently quit her position bringing the total to 6 since the chairman was sacked last year for delivering a report on the actual risks posed by different types of drugs, both legal and illegal.

I do not want to say I condone drug use but I do look at drugs in all of their forms, from alcohol to prescription drugs and believe education, information and research are key.

Prohibition does not work, this is something we should have learned from history. You ban certain known substances and then people find legal loopholes or illegally begin manufacturing their own versions which fall outside of the prohibition laws. We are now beginning to see that banning things like weed does not stop people buying it but leaves the market open to new substances and totally unregulated supply.

The government will struggle to enact laws to beat these legal highs and the people producing them will change the chemical composition slightly and be back with something else and back and forth it will go. Maybe one day someone might actually listen to the drug advisory council who were paid by the government to study the effects of different drugs and realise that some drugs do not merit the demonic reputation they have and some legal drugs are far more dangerous.

As for people who call others idiots for trying drugs, and take the high and mighty attitude of "I never smoked or drank before in my life"... well good for you, it is your decision not to try anything, but remember others have their own reasons for drinking or smoking weed etc and they may equally be looking back at you thinking you have not had your mind expanded or opened by some very natural substances. Keep in mind that many of the most entertaining people from singers/song writers to actors and directors have produced some of their best work whilst having their creativity expanded by substances. This is merely my take on things and I have no desire to tell anyone what is right or wrong, too many problems occur in this world from people trying to tell others what to do.

And finally... I was deeply annoyed by all the outrage on public radio in Ireland over the past couple of week with middle aged housewives calling up to say how terrible these headshops are and how they were going to protest outside them. If they are so anti-drugs why dont they drag their moany arses down to the inner city flats complexes and protest there to get the heroin dealers out etc. The truth is they are worried that having a headshop in their locality might drop the price of their million euro houses and they actually couldnt care less about the scourge of drug addiction.

agree with all that, my point was the same, i think people are silly for taking these pills when they have no clue what sort of crap is in them! no problem with weed etc

Insightful and sensible as always Dylan. The witch hunt that follows anything new drug-wise really pisses me off. The media really do love to whip the public into a frenzy with their scare mongering. The governments knee-jerk reaction of banning substances is laughable as well.

My favourite was the nonsense about the lad that ripped his scrotum off. Was at a rave and folk were like "Did ya hear about that guy?" etc, very funny.

@ wes, you say you wouldnt say the same about drinking no??

did you not have a thread posted awhile ago about people fighting when there drinking, people are far more violent when there drunk and start arguements over stuped shite. Been out nights and seen people outta it and never once did a row break out.

That stuff is not for me anyways, but im not gonna brand anyone that takes drugs a retard, it's there choice if they wanna take drugs legal or illegal.
