Only real crap thing about french cars are the trailing arm bearings and how they are designed.

Apart from that they are good handling cheap toys tbh. Spare parts are dirt cheap compared to jap stuff, even new the parts are much cheaper.

Although the pedal left offset is stupid but it's something you get used to unless you have fat feet.

Standard for standard in a drag I think a starlet would win. But neither of the cars standard would be what I call fast. Nippy maybe but not fast!

:haha: My best friend has a 106 gti. There quick for sure, standard v standard would be very close i'd imagine. Handling on them is insane though! Hes taken me around corners where im postive were gonna die and the car doesnt even so much as flinch, jus sticks dead on- line, if I tried that in my GT I would be in a field! The pedals are bithc at first but after a coupla weeks they're fine:)

Used to own a vtr

hated the thing.
if you sit at the steering wheel straight on it was slightly to the left of you and the same with the pedals they were all offset to the left, and i could get my foot on all 3 hell and toe braking is out of the questions with over size 6 feet lol.
it was gutless i know VTS is 16v not 8v but it was horrid.
how you can compare such awful styling and such a standard car with a starlet turbo i have no idea. i had a sports cam, exhuast and air filter and it did a, 7.6 0 - 60 mph.
personally having owned a few french cars and german ones.
i'll stick with the japs.

you can't compare a vtr to a vts, thats like saying i had vtec civic and it was crap so i wouldn't buy a type r. friend had a vts and i had it for a while off him, very fun little car to drive, and as was said above there cheap!

had a vts years ago and a 106 gti a few years back gr8 cars 106 was much better tho group n pug sport 2" group n air filter and 4 branch and they fly loved it will defo have one again

was expecting some negetive comments but i really do enjoy driving the saxo very different from the starlet,as for the pedals close together yes there very close as i have size 11 feet and find when braking i hit the accelerator.

p.s these arnt to get mixed up with a vtr totally different machine in my eyes its like comparing a starlet na with a turbo one.

1-5gear it pulls very well

tbo kara i think ur input is useless i still have my starlet but use vts for daily driving

i actually think its built well interrior is smatrter than my glanza with more electrics/airbags etc

I like both cars in different ways

LMFAO people have different opinions on things mate,its a car forum,if you want someone not to say a bad word about your vts then join the Saxo forum!

Not everyone can like the same thing mate,i owned 3 Saxos took me a while to realise how shit they were!

Most Boyracers/Chavs have saxos esp Vts & Vtrs!

And at the min im not driving the Starlet im driving the Civic


Anyway i wernt the only one that slated Saxos so go pick on them or is it cause i was the only female to comment and your not man enough to pick on the boys?!

hmm got to say i dont like citreon, although fairly quick for n/a car been flat out in 106 gti i dont think they have much tuning capability compared to a starlet.

Theres a guy that lives around the corner from me that always has one of these.

Hes had 200sx, del sol, r5, accord type r, punto GT but ALWAYS comes back to a slammed saxo.

There muct be something in them!

i love saxos.. owned a vtr before with full supersprint manifold back and induction kit. very nippy even took a mates gsi corsa up till 3rd gear. but the build quality is shit! gearbox's are like cheese! but apart from that they look great and dont need much! just slammed and a system and induction!
