that air filter wouldnt lok out of place on a bugatti veyron, far too big. its bigger than the the engine. how much bhp do you lose by having that weighing down that tiny lttle puny engine.

7 pages?! fuck reading all that. im guessing its justbitching and arguing as usual..anyway..

My mate has a vts standard engine apart from forged high comp pistons and an exhaust.
In a straight line its as fast as 170-180bhp GT's and round corners your getting no-where near it.Itha amazing handling. Shocks and spring and good tyres and its awesome.
Was on the first episode of slips for those interested LOL

If it'll fit in the engine bay, please explain how an air filter can be 'far too big'?

How much weight do you think there is in a small piece of aluminium and some foam?

I'm not going to defend to car because it was like your above comment, full of crap.

your reading into this far too much mate, the whole statement i made was a sarcastic joke. i'm sory you was not able to see the funny side of this. next time i write anything like this, i will write in big letters the word joke so that you know that is a joke and not factual or serious.

differences between vtr and vts
vts has dohc 16v
bigger wheels
closer ratio toughened gearbox

vts - 800kg - 120bhp - 150bhp per tonne
vtr - 800kg - 90bhp - 113bhp per tonne

vts is 2 sec quicker to 60 and 10 sec quicker to 100

no no no dude, no.

they weigh between 900-920KG.

And the later VTR had 98BHP. My mate had a 106GTI same time as i had my VTR(which is virtually identical to the VTS in terms of performance), Waaay back in the day and i can assure you his car was not 10 seconds faster to 100MPH. Thats ridiculous. If thats what it says on paper, then dont believe it. With only 20BHP more there is NO WAY its that much faster.

It was/is faster, but mainly on the motorway you could see the difference. Around short sprints to 80MPH there wasnt actually a major difference, maybe 2 car lengths.

MY stock GT pissed on them

Saying all this, I enjoyed my VTR, i was 18 mind you.

Nice car, i like the VTS :)

sorry to dissagree dan but you obviously havent driven the 16v version it would dance all round a standard gt.and to say it isnt much faster than vtr is ridiculous as i have a vtr engine myself in a 206 which was so dead until i turbo"d it lol.id say your friends car wasnt running right if your vtr wasnt far away from it.

i read the weigh etc on google lol

thinking of selling saxo anyhow lads im 6ft3 and find driving it uncomfortable

possibly looking at a punto gt anyone have anything else part from a starlet they would recomend as every day car

i cant mind the reggie mate, it was on pistonheads for a while, looking for swaps.

If it had orange wheels it was my old car. Note I DID NOT put on those orange wheels. They where anthracite when I sold it to a mate, who sold it on, maybe to that guy.

But I emailed the guy on piston heads, Lewis Leah was the name that came up on email. Guy said he did all the mods himself like the engine, shite, said a load of mods as well, which might have been done but I doubt it. And the guy used a load of rude boi talk and text talk so generally sounded a bell toucher on email like.

I told him I was the previous owner and then he didn't reply lol

fair enough, we have our experiences/opinions :)

But with 120BHP weighing 920KG it isnt faster straight line then a starlet GT running its original power. I proved that so many times years ago.

saxo VTR- 110 per tonne weight- 920KG
saxo VTS -130 per tonne weight - 935KG

The later saxo with 100BHP really isnt that shy. Pulled 130MPH on the motorway and i got 8 seconds to 60MPH. VTS is faster, but like said you need a long stretch to see a real difference or track. Ive had too many. To drive though there is a nice difference in power/torque

my figures are incorrect, i just googled saxo spec etc and they came up thanks for posting the correct ones dan:)

i just seem too think the saxo pulls alot better through all the gears but then again the glanza has boost nothing compares too that lol

alot of torque steer from the standard vts
