Thanks guys you've been extremely helpful!

Hopfully will be back on the road with a new engine within a month as i loved driving it while it lasted!

Yeah I know it just seems to rattle through your head! Got to be worse than nails on a black board or my pet hate, polystyrene! Not good when you sell parts and most come in Polystyrene I just hate the squeaking it makes I have to get Martina to un=pack, great excuse though!!

It was quiet 1st, but then harder you rev the worser it gets, I was told you not suppose drive it at all, as the rod can go through the whole block. ( I gambled it 20 miles to droiwich lol ).

that sounds pretty bad, was it as loud when driving like incide the car? but random but when i go at a certain speed in first gear and hold it, sounds like somthings vibrating could anything, no wear near as loud as that but could it be the same problem? never does it any another other gear lol..

I know, should have seen the ppl faces when i drove past, when i gave it some beans ppl stared. YO Vtec kickin in :haha:

sounds like my kinda luck, gbox and hg at the same time lol! and aux belt on my other car so thats left at work so gotta drive the starbo arghh!

Ahh good you managed to get into it, cheers for fixing it...

Any ideas what that could be? As the only thing i've been told far is "It's f**ked!"

Obviously i'm ready to buy a new engine but if it can be re-built i would rather do that! Sump's coming off tomorow to see if theres any noticable bottom end damage...
